Semantic Coherence: Cheaper Accountant – Signal Evidence & AI Readability

Semantic Coherence — The Lens

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Semantic Coherence Homepage promise vs. Sub-page reality.
16 Impact Weight: 20 / 100
80% Reputation

Alignment is exceptionally high; the H1 ‘Get Your Free No-Obligation Accounting Quote’ and meta title ‘Affordable Ltd Co Accounts from £99’ are immediately validated by the body text price list. There is zero drift into high-level advisory fluff; the site stays strictly within the compliance lane it promises. A minor inconsistency exists in the review counts, where the body text claims ‘hundreds of Five Star Reviews’ but the technical metadata (JSON-LD) only reports 20. The technical structure is weak, with three H1 tags on the homepage creating a cluttered signal hierarchy.

Semantic Coherence is read from the heading hierarchy first: what each page announces in its H1 and headings, then whether the body actually delivers on it. Below is the structure the engine mapped, followed by the clean text to check for drift between promise and reality.

🏗️ Semantic Structure — heading hierarchy & page identity (the promise the page makes)

How much to pay yourself from Limited Company 2025/26

The new tax year has now begun and the question arises on how much to pay a company director in wages during the 2025/26 tax year. As a result of the changes made to National Insurance the question is a little more complex this year to answer compared to previous years and there is more than one option, as outlined below. The strategy of paying a low director salary and then dividends on top of this still remains the most tax efficient option for the 2025/26 tax year.
[H2] How much should I pay myself?
There are effectively two main options here:
[H3] Option 1
Pay yourself a director wage of £5,000 a year or £416.67 a month. At this level of salary no income tax will be due and no employer and employee NI charges will be due.
This is the most straight forward solution for a company director and does not require any PAYE charges to be paid throughout the tax year.
You would then pay dividends on top of this wage to supplement the low salary value.
This is the typical option that has been adopted and recommend during prior years. The only difference being that the NI changes introduced for the 2025/26 tax year means that National Insurance kicks in at £5,000 which is a lot lower than the £9,096 threshold for last year.
[H4] State Pension Entitlement
An NI qualifying year towards your state pension will not be accrued at this level of salary if you chose option 1.
You could say that this is the end of the free state pension qualifying year and we’re confident that this was part of the plans when the National Insurances changes were formulated by the Government.
[H3] Option 2
Pay yourself a director wage of £12,570 a year or £1,047.50 a month. At this level of salary employer NI charges will be due to be paid but these are a tax deductible expense for the company and actually reduce the corporation tax on your company profit for the year.
This is slightly more complex than option 1 as PAYE charges, more specifically the employer NI charge, will be incurred and will need to be paid to HMRC throughout the year.
Dividends would also be paid on top of this wage as normal and according to the strategy that we are all used to and have applied for many years now.
[H4] Corporation Tax Saving
Paying a director wage of £12,570 actually saves more in corporation tax when compared to a salary of £5,000; even though NI charges need to be paid. The saving is small but still worthwhile.
For most people the employer NI charge will be £1,136 but the corporation tax saving will be £1,654 (at 19% corporation tax) resulting a net reduction in tax of £518 per annum.
[H4] State Pension Entitlement
An NI qualifying year towards your state pension will be accrued at this level of salary if you chose option 2.
[H2] Conclusion
There are more benefits in paying yourself a director wage of £12,570 a year (when compared to £5,000 a year) for the 2025/26 tax year.
The benefits are as follows:
Tax saving of £518 a year for a company paying corporation tax at 19%.
The accrual of a Qualifying NI Year towards your state pension.
The solution is a little more complex this financial year due to the changes in the NI rates that have been introduced and we have kept this guide as simple as possible to cover the two most straight forward options that will apply to the vast majority of clients.

Companies House Fees to Increase by Inflation Busting 317%

Companies House are due to hike their fees on 01 May 2024 with eye-watering increases of up to 317%. Inflation has been historically high during recent years but the increase that is about to hit UK businesses is quite staggering.
[H2] What is changing?
[H3] Limited Company Incorporation Fee
The most significant increase that will be implemented on 01 May is an increase in the fee that Companies House currently charges to register a new limited company online (electronically).
Companies House currently charges a fee of £12 to register a limited company electronically via Gov.uk. From 01 May this year this fee will increase to £50, which is an increase of 317%. What you receive remains exactly the same and anyone wanting to register a new limited company will simply need to pay a lot more than what was charged previously.
Companies House currently creates a limited company within 24 hours (most of the time) for the fee of £12 and they will now introduce a same-day incorporation fee of £78, for an electronic incorporation via software. So a premium fee for anyone who must have that shiny new limited company right now.
[H3] Confirmation Statement Fee
The limited company incorporation fee isn’t the only fee to be targeted by Companies House. On 01 May this year Companies House will also increase the fee that they charge to “file” the Confirmation Statement from the current fee of £13 up to the new fee of £34. This represents an increase of 162%.
The Confirmation Statement must be completed and filed annually by all limited comapnies so this quite some increase across the life-time of a company.
The filing fee charged by Companies House had been previously decreasing, down from £15 many years ago, but this decision and direction appears to have been abolished and completely reversed.
The decision to hike the fee goes against the cost benefits of electronically filing vs paper forms and it is difficult to see the justification for such increases given the minimal amount of human effort/intervention required at Companies House. You might be lead to conclude that these fees are an easy target for a Government who knows that company owners are more than likely to simply absorb the increase in costs and without incurring much of a backlash.
[H2] What does this mean for you?
Sadly this means that we will need to increase the fees that we charge all clients for these related services. So our fee to incorporate a limited company will increase from 01 May.
We will also need to increase our fee for the Confirmation Statement for the first time in over a decade. The fee that we currently charge is less than the new filing fee to be charged by Companies House, so we would be operating this service at a loss if we didn’t apply an increase to our prices. Which we simply can’t sustain on a commercial basis. As a result, a new fee of £60 will apply from 01 May this year for the completion and filing of the Confirmation Statement by your accountant.
