Yes! You can easily import account trial balances, vendors, customers, chart of accounts, and up to two years of bank transactions via Plaid integration (or as many bank transactions as you want manually using bank statements).

Do I need training to use this system?
We made this accounting solution simple by design. You do not need any special training to track income and expenses, generate customer invoices, or print reports for your accountant. There are plenty of help articles and videos to learn how to use the software that you can access
here.

Can I accept credit card payments through the software?

Yes. We have free integration with Stripe, a third-party processor to provide you and your customers with a seamless payment experience. You can sign up with Stripe through our software. *Stripe has a standard fee schedule.

Can my bank transactions automatically integrate into the accounting software as they happen?
We use a third party to securely and seamlessly integrate your bank transactions, Plaid. You can connect your bank accounts and/or credit cards so that all your activity automatically flows into the software. Plaid supports most major banks and credit unions. However, you will need online banking access with your bank. If automatic imports aren’t for you, you can opt to manually record journal entries or import a file.

How many customers can I invoice in the accounting software?
You can add (and invoice) an unlimited number of customers in the software.

I have customers who receive the same services every month. Can I set up automatic invoices for these customers?
Yes! With Accounting Premium, you can send recurring invoices to your customers on your desired schedule at no additional charge.

How many transactions can I import?
There is no limit to the number of bank transactions you can manually import from your bank account. Keep in mind that automatic bank transactions can pull up to 2 years of bank transactions.

My accountant wants reports with accrual basis, but I like to use cash basis. Which should I use?
Patriot Software has a unique patented cash-to-accrual basis toggle that will display your financial reports in cash or accrual basis with the simple click of a button. This means you can use the easy-to-understand cash basis for everyday entries, but can give your accountant the needed information in accrual-basis reporting.
This toggle doesn’t “convert” the cash-basis entries to cash- or accrual-basis accounting. It makes entries in each format and stores the data so it is ready for accurate reporting.

Do I get charged a fee per payroll I run?
No. You are charged the base monthly price and a per worker paid fee on the first of each month. If a worker does not have a payroll during certain months, you are not charged for them.

Do I have to download the software?
Our payroll software is online. You can access it anytime or anywhere you have data or internet access. There’s no software to download.

What size organizations can use your software?
The software is designed for small to large businesses, from 1–500 employees, in all industries. Whether you are a seasoned business or just starting out, our software will help you keep your time and money.

Can I run a payroll outside my normal cycle?
Yes. You may run a payroll whenever you need to in the payroll software.

Can I use your software if my company has employees outside of the USA?
No–our software is only available to companies with employees working in the USA. It’s our passion to help American businesses by providing streamlined, easy, and affordable payroll management solutions.

What if I don’t run payroll in a given month?
In the months you don’t run payroll, you will only be charged the base price for the payroll.

What methods of payment do you accept for software and service fees?
Patriot Software accepts credit or debit cards from Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover for your software and service fees.

Can I use my personal bank account for my direct deposit?
You’ll need a commercial or business bank account to utilize our direct deposit or Full Service payroll.

How will you secure my data?
We are SOC2 Type II compliant to ensure the industry gold-standards in keeping your data safe. We will also require you to set up multiple authentication methods to ensure your log in credentials are not compromised.

Do you handle Workers’ Compensation Insurance?
Patriot collects and files Workers’ Compensation Insurance for Washington and Wyoming. For other states, we do offer free workers' comp integration with ERGO NEXT Insurance, who offers Pay-As-You-Go Workers’ Compensation Insurance.

Do you handle the IRS Form 943 for agricultural businesses?
Unfortunately, we don’t handle the IRS Form 943 with our Full Service Payroll at this time. However, you can use our Basic Payroll and file outside of the software if your business is required to file Form 943.

Does Full Service Payroll handle the transferring of funds for insurance, garnishments, retirement contributions, or child support?
Patriot offers free integrations through our partners Vestwell for 401(k), ERGO NEXT for pay-as-you-go workers comp, and SimplyInsured for health benefits.
At this time, we don't handle payments or integration for garnishments or child support or other retirement plans.

What is Patriot’s time and attendance software?
Patriot Time is an online timekeeping solution and is an add-on to our payroll software. It’s an online system, accessible from anywhere with internet access 24/7 with automatic software updates.

How does it work?
Patriot Time is a great alternative to a traditional time clock system. Employees use the free employee portal or mobile app to record time, view time-off hours, enter comments, and view pay reports.

Why should I use it for my business?
A software-based time and attendance system simplifies the collection of employee hours for payroll processing, reducing input errors and seamlessly importing hours to payroll with a click of a button.

Do I have to pay for employees who aren’t required to track their time?
No! You’ll only pay for employees with time card usage in a given billing period. If you have employees who don’t track their time, you won’t pay for them.

Can it handle overtime and double-time calculations?
Yes. Patriot’s time and attendance software comes with the standard “over 40 hours/week” overtime rule already set up. You can also set up your own custom overtime rules to meet most state, local, or company specific overtime requirements.

Patriot’s HR Software is an online software that helps you manage your employee information in an easy-to-use format, from anywhere there’s an internet connection. Patriot’s HR Software is an add-on module to our online payroll system, and can’t be used as a standalone product.

What employee information can I keep track of?

With Patriot’s HR Software, you can easily keep track of your employee information, job history, employment dates, emergency contacts, notes, electronic file attachments, and managers.

What types of reports are available?
