Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.

Information density is highly bifurcated. The homepage is almost entirely marketing fluff for Pet Insurance, using power words like ‘exciting new offering’ and ‘protection with purpose’ without specific animal welfare metrics. Conversely, the ‘Resources for vets’ page provides high substance, citing ‘Dr Gabrielle Musk’ and specific technical guidelines for ‘anaesthesia and pain management in cats.’ However, four of the six analyzed pages (Support Us, Donate, Key Issues) are flagged as ‘insufficient’ because they contain only a template-based subscribe box with zero body content.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

Responsible sourcing

[H1]
The RSPCA works with a wide range of stakeholders to improve the welfare of animals. When it comes to responsible sourcing of animal-based products, there is a lot that individual organisations can do.

Forward-thinking organisations that consider animal welfare in their operations enhance and retain their social licence to operate, identify market opportunities, increase brand reputation and are part of a growing movement that cares about the welfare of animals.
So if your organisation is reviewing animal-based products sourced for human or pet consumption in your supply chain, get in touch with the RSPCA Australia team at [email protected], or take a look at the below documents for more information on how you can make a lasting and positive impact for animals by ensuring these products are responsibly sourced.

Veterinary guidelines for anaesthesia and pain management in cats undergoing desexing

The RSPCA commissioned the development of the Guidelines for private practice veterinarians on anaesthesia and pain management in cats undergoing desexing as a current evidence-based resource to support private practice veterinarians in delivering safe and effective anaesthesia and pain management for cats; in particular, prepubertal and unsocialised cats.
The guidelines were drafted by Dr Gabrielle Musk (a specialist in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia) and reviewed by other specialists in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia, veterinarians in practices with a high feline case load, and members of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists.
The guidelines have been reviewed and endorsed by the Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia Chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists.
The RSPCA hosted a free live webinar on the guidelines on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 @ 7:00PM AEDT. You can view the webinar recording below.

🧭 Industry Context — common generic-claim patterns in Charities, Nonprofits & NGOs to weigh the text against
Generic Claims: making a difference, changing lives, creating lasting impact, every donation counts, together we can, empowering communities…
Red Flags: no charity registration number, no published financial statements, emotional appeals without program specifics, vague impact claims without numbers, no information on how donations are allocated, founder-centric branding over mission…
Semantic Drift Patterns: homepage shows field work but programs page is vague, claims direct impact but finances show high admin ratios, mission targets one population but programs serve another, impact numbers on homepage not supported by program details…
Proof Expectations: published annual financial reports, charity registration number and regulatory body, specific program outcomes with measurable data, administrative-to-program spending ratios, named beneficiary stories with permission, independent audit results…
