When you're exercising for longer than an hour, it's important to refuel along the way. Aim to eat one serving of Energy Chews every 20-30 minutes to keep going strong, and be sure to hydrate while taking gels to help your body efficiently process your fuel.

Cheap ingredients now. Recipe changed and the primary ingredient is now brown rice syrup (which is not a good sweetener) - I won’t be buying these anymore. Too bad, they were a nice GF snack.

Changed Recipe
This used to be a great energy snack for long endurance activities. Unfortunately, they changed the recipe presumably to save money. The flavor difference is slight, you just notice that there’s something off putting about the taste. There’s this almost raw butter flavor for blueberry. Differences in ingredients list is that the primary ingredient is now rice syrup, where it was previously a flour blend. The old recipe used tapioca syrup and less of it. There’s also a new flavor concentrate.

[H3] WHEN SHOULD I EAT ENERGY WAFFLES?
Any time of course, but Waffles are a particularly good energizing snack before a workout. Because they're flat, they're perfect to pack along on runs, hikes, or rides, or to keep stashed in your gym bag for when you need a boost.

[H3] HOW IS AN ENERGY WAFFLE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER GU ENERGY PRODUCTS?
Our Energy Waffles contain carbohydrates, and electrolytes, similar to other GU Energy products, but in a "solid food" form. The GU Energy Waffle is now certified organic, with some flavors being caffeinated or gluten-free. It's ideal for a quick breakfast or pre-workout snack.

[H3] ARE WAFFLES SAFE FOR CHILDREN?
Waffles are safe for children, but remember that the Coffee Caramel flavor contains caffeine.

[H3] DO WAFFLES MEET MY DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?
Waffles are certified Organic and Kosher. Certain flavors are gluten-free.

[H3] WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BCAAS?
The amino acids were removed as part of our recipe reformulation to enhance taste and texture, and achieving USDA Organic certification was important to us to provide athletes with the premium, clean ingredients they're seeking.
