Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.
22 Impact Weight: 30 / 100
73% Reputation

The site exhibits a dual nature in its information density; the homepage is dominated by fluffy inspirational slogans like The Road to Happiness and We Believe, while the Tech page contains high-substance technical specifications including tensile strength metrics (820,000 psi) and specific aluminum alloys (6000 and 7000 series). However, substance is diluted by repeated magazine pull-quotes that emphasize the same value proposition (price vs. performance) across multiple pages. The ratio of generic marketing power words to technical specifications is balanced, preventing a higher fluff score.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

📝 The Narrative — clean text per page (the substance-vs-filler signal)

[H5] FLY Team 29 Titanium - DECLINE H3 Publications
"The FLY Team(29) swoops around big sweeping, high speed turns like a train on rails and motors across minute trail debris with the same powerful locomotion...The FLY Team(29) seems to go faster and faster...a deal that is hard to pass up, offering a high qualty frame with a rad parts spec."
[H5] FLY 9357 - BIKE
"This bike is an absolute feather. You can have the lightest bike on the block for about the same price as most people pay for their wheels. The lightweight flyer screams up hills with no hint of bottom bracket flex. How does Motobecane do it?"
[H5] FLY TEAM - MOUNTAIN BIKE ACTION
"IS 19.9 POUNDS TOO LIGHT?" "how is it possible for Motobecane to sell an under-20-pound (mountain) bike for a such an incredible price? One thing is certain; you'll always win in the price department with this incredible deal. The FLY TEAM makes you feel like a superstar from the git-go. The 19.9 pound FLY TEAM simply motors"

[H5] X4B 2.0 - BICYCLING
"Four-bar suspension with 4 inch of travel at a price where most bikes have single-pivot, if any."

[H5] FLY TEAM - MOUNTAIN BIKING MAGAZINE
XC RACE BIKE OF THE YEAR! "The more we do the math, the harder it was to believe the price at which the Motobecane package leaves the shop. Performance of the frame and parts spec is on the highest level"

[H5] CENTURY PRO - BICYCLING MAGAZINE
Bicycling Magazine compares a Motobecane Century Pro to a $10,000 Merlin in a full test ride article! "The gap between cost and performance simply isn't big enough to justify all the extra cash. The Motobecane delivers the goods with enough money left for a trip for two to the Giro d'Italia. The Motobecane is a shining example of solid design with good spec and a fine ride at a great price."

[H5] FANTOM XC - BICYCLING MAGAZINE
"A light frame and good spec make Motobecane's XC Racer fast and fun. Typically, you find these parts on bikes that cost thousands of dollars more...perhaps the only bike specifically designed for budding XC or 24-hour racers."

[H5] FLY TEAM Ti - MOUNTAIN BIKE ACTION
"The tight controls and frame angles are so lively it's easy for the rider to find his zone. The Fly rider will have an overwhelming desire to sprint past the front row and take the lead. In or out of the saddle, the 20 pounder retains complete steering precision on ultra steep grades without a hint of bar wagging or over-steering."

[H1] Technology

[H5] Materials Technology
All of our bicycles are crafted from some of the finest materials available. Motobecane USA uses many of the same materials used in aerospace and aircraft engineering.

[H5] Titanium Alloy
Due to their high tensile strength to density ratio, high corrosion resistance, and ability to withstand moderately high temperatures without creeping, titanium alloys are used in aircraft, armor plating, naval ships, spacecraft, and missiles. For these applications titanium alloyed with aluminium, vanadium, and other elements is used for a variety of components including critical structural parts, fire walls, landing gear, exhaust ducts (helicopters), and hydraulic systems. The SR-71 "Blackbird" was one of the first aircraft to make extensive use of titanium within its structure, paving the way for its use in modern military and commercial aircraft.
[H5]

[H5] High Modulus Carbon Fiber
When heated in the correct conditions, these chains bond side-to-side (ladder polymers), forming narrow graphene sheets which eventually merge to form a single, jelly roll-shaped or round filament. The result is usually 93–95% carbon. The carbon can become further enhanced, as high modulus, or high strength carbon, by heat treatment processes. Carbon heated in the range of 1500-2000 °C (carbonization) exhibits the highest tensile strength (820,000 psi or 5,650 MPa or 5,650 N/mm²), while carbon fiber heated from 2500 to 3000 °C (graphitizing) exhibits a higher modulus of elasticity (77,000,000 psi or 531 GPa or 531 kN/mm²)

[H5] Aluminum
6000 series are alloyed with magnesium and silicon, are easy to machine, and can be precipitation-hardened.
7000 series are alloyed with zinc, and can be precipitation hardened. Both alloys can be engineered to attain the same weight and riding characteristics and thus are often used in place of the other.

[H5] High Grade Steel
Alloying elements include chromium and molybdenum, and as a result these materials are often referred to as chromoly steel, or cro-mo, or CRMO. They have an excellent strength to weight ratio, are easily welded and are considerably stronger and harder than standard steel.

[H5] Bicycle Frame Tubing Technology
Metal tubed frames are precision welded by skilled craftspeople with tubes that are formed and butted for lightweight and optimum ride characteristics.
Carbon fiber frames are precision crafted from sheets of pre-preg, high-modulus carbon fiber. Molded at extremely high pressures for low voids, Carbon Fiber is capable of extremely high strength. Layers can be customized for optimum riding characteristics with the greatest versatility.
[H5] Mountain Technology
Motobecane USA mountain bikes use advanced features which give the rider considerable advantage in demanding off-road conditions.
[H5] FANTOM DS SERIES | FULL SUSPENSION | ACTIVE 4B SUSPENSION
Our Active4B adjustable rear suspension linkage provides from three, four and up to five inches of plush travel. This four-bar linkage design is engineered with precision sealed cartridge bearings at the most critical pivot points. Front and rear suspension have available lockout/platform via advanced MotionControl.

[H5] 400 to 700DS SERIES | FULL SUSPENSION | FULLY ACTIVE DST | SINGLE PIVOT
From the 400DS to the 700DS, all feature our Fully Active DST single pivot design. Provides up to three inches of bump-eating travel. Rear suspension travel is matched to XC and Trail conditions. The suspension features extremely strong and reliable oversized bearings and bushings at all pivot points. Front and Rear lockout is available on certain models.

[H5] SUMMARY OF MATERIAL QUALITIES

[H5] TITANIUM
Titanium can be made very lightweight and has an incredible ride quality. Generally expensive. Titanium has far superior abrasion and cracking resistance. All riders we asked agreed that the best material for a "real trail" mountain bike has got to be Titanium.

[H5] CARBON FIBER
Upper level ride quality to very comfortable. Carbon fiber can be made very lightweight in many forms and tube shapes. Generally expensive. Low abrasion and impact resistance. Very high fatigue resistance.

[H5] ALUMINUM
Mid to upper level ride quality. Can be expensive but is mostly economical. Generally lightweight to very lightweight. Middle level abrasion and impact resistance.

[H5] HIGH GRADE STEEL
Very comfortable ride quality. Can be expensive or economical. Generally middle weights. Very High abrasion and impact resistance.
