Farmgate Café
(https://www.farmgatecork.ie) 📸 Data Snapshot: May 19, 2026Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Information density is exceptionally high for a restaurant site. Instead of generic fluff, the text cites specific dishes like Tripe and Drisheen and the Cork Reuben, and identifies the owners Kay and Maróg Harte. The headings primarily consist of verified critic quotes from the Sunday Times and Irish Times, which provide external substance rather than internal marketing jargon.
Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.
📝 The Narrative — clean text per page (the substance-vs-filler signal)

This allows Farmgate Café to provide a uniquely Irish eating experience both reflecting and (we hope) playing a small role in a vibrant Irish food culture truly embracing how good indigenous ingredients and food products are. Cork in 1984. Ten years later Maróg’s sister Kay joined her, and so the Café in the English Market in Cork city centre was created. Farmgate Café is located in the heart of Ireland’s oldest and most historic food market, with an industrious exciting view overlooking stalls and fellow traders. The Café, which in 2019 celebrated 25 years at the English Market, embraces much of what is unique and traditional to Cork, along with new influences in this dynamic multicultural food market and port city.
