Semantic Coherence: Fentimans – Signal Evidence & AI Readability

Semantic Coherence — The Lens

Pull the main entities out of the H1, then check whether they actually recur through the body. A page that announces one thing and then talks about another drifts. Headings with no real sentences underneath read as pseudo-substance.

Semantic Coherence Homepage promise vs. Sub-page reality.
18 Impact Weight: 20 / 100
90% Reputation

There is virtually zero drift between the homepage signal and sub-page substance. The homepage promises ‘Botanically Brewed’ beverages, and the secondary ‘Botanical Brewing’ page provides a granular, multi-stage explanation of the simmering, infusion, and carbonation process. The ‘History’ page successfully anchors the ‘Family of Brewers’ claim with specific dates (1905) and names (Thomas Fentiman, Eldon Robson), creating a cohesive narrative thread.

Semantic Coherence is read from the heading hierarchy first: what each page announces in its H1 and headings, then whether the body actually delivers on it. Below is the structure the engine mapped, followed by the clean text to check for drift between promise and reality.

The History of Fentimans
We have a rich history of Botanically Brewing premium quality drinks with knowledge and expertise that has been passed on from generation to generation of the Fentimans family.

[IMG: Thomas Fentiman with his horse and cart]

[H2]
Once upon a time...
In 1905, Thomas Fentiman, an iron puddler from Cleckheaton, England was approached by a fellow tradesman for a loan. A deal was struck and a recipe for Botanically Brewed ginger beer was provided as security. The loan was never repaid so Thomas became the owner of the unique recipe, which he began using to produce Fentimans Ginger Beer.

[IMG: Fentimans old grey hen bottles]

Thomas sold his Botanically Brewed Ginger Beer door to door via horse and cart in ceramic jars known affectionately as GREY HENS

Originally there was no company logo. Instead, the Grey Hens carried the surnames of family members.

[H2]
Fearless
The dog that proudly guards every Fentimans bottle is Fearless, Thomas' faithful dog. Her portrait is still our logo to this day and she proudly guards our head office, Fearless House!

[IMG: Sourcing the finest botanical for Fentimans drinks]

[H2]
Sourcing
The indulgent and distinctive flavour experience starts with scouring the globe for the finest natural ingredient

[H2]
AND It’s what we do with those ingredients that make our drinks so special...

[H2] Asia
Some of the finest exotic ingredients are grown in the Asian continent.
[H3] Ginger Root

[H4] China
Ginger root has been used for millennia as a herbal medicine and as a cooking ingredient in Asia. Two thousand years after the Romans first started to import ginger to Europe, Fentimans continue the tradition of importing the finest Chinese ginger root. To make Fentimans Ginger Beer, the ginger root is crushed before the intense and spicy flavour is extracted and botanically brewed. The result is a complex taste which is fiery and full of flavour.

[H3] Quinine

[H4] Indonesia
Famously used by British colonists to protect them from contracting malaria, quinine harvested from the bark of the Chinchona Tree is the vital ingredient in the creation of tonic water. Extracting the purest quinine is essential in giving a premium tonic its distinctive dry and slightly bitter taste. The quinine used in our drinks, has a long association with the British making tonic water in their overseas empires.

[H2] Europe
At Fentimans we try to source as many ingredients as close to home as possible. Lucky for us, Europe holds some of the finest ingredients in the World!

[H3] Elderflower

[H4] Europe
Elderflower has been a staple of the English country kitchen for centuries. The delicate white flowers grow wild in European hedgerows and come into bloom in June, signalling the arrival of summer. To capture the essence of an English summer, we use the finest elderflowers, which are transformed into a pale, floral liquid that is Fentimans Sparkling Elderflower.

[H3] Oranges

[H4] Mediterranean
Our specially sourced oranges are grown in the Mediterranean region and are renowned for possessing a tangy and intense citrus character. The temperate climate allows the oranges to slowly ripen, developing a vibrant and bold citrus dimension, that packs a flavoursome punch in our Valencian Orange Tonic Water.

[H3] Rose Oil

[H4] Bulgaria
It is the inclusion of rose oil, which gives our Rose Lemonade its distinct and delectable floral flavour. We source our rose oil from Kazanlak in Bulgaria, known locally as the Valley of the Roses and famed for producing the highest quality rose oil. Harvesting of the rose petals happens in a narrow window of time, occurring just once a year. The rose petals must be picked by hand at sunrise when they are at their most fragrant, with the oil extracted within hours of picking. The result is a delicate and distinctive rose flavour.
[H2] Americas
Due to its diverse climate and vast amount of fertile land, the Americas can grow a huge variety of fine fruits and flora.
[H3] Pink Grapefruit

[H4] Florida
One of the largest members of the citrus fruit family, pink grapefruit is tangy whilst carrying a luminous sweetness. The sharp yet sweet notes create a delicious melody of flavours in our Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water; the perfect recipe for an invigorating G&T like no other.

[H3] Flavour Creation
We check every single ingredient by smell, taste and feel...We reject if not to the highest possible standardWe use raw ingredients to create flavour that goes into every bottleOur flavour creation expert adds water, ethanol and ingredients to a vat and checks the ingredients dailyFlavour extraction has taken place when our flavour expert says so. They test this by hand

[H3] Botanical Brewing
Three secret ingredients are added and simmered to ensure flavours combineTemperature cooling and adding yeastBrewing begins, at which point we begin to infuse with gingerInfusing continues for a minimum of 7 days and is tasted every 12 hoursOnce the yeast has finished it’s work, we allow the botanical base to cool and mature to gain flavour

[IMG: Fentimans bottles on the line]

Flavour and botanical base are infused before carbonation.Water and natural beet sugar are added before carbonation adds sparkle to the liquid.

[H2]
AND THAT’S BOTANICAL BREWING!
Pasteurisation not only extends the life of our drinks; the heating process also plays a role in melding together the array of essential oils, botanical extracts and flavoursThe result is a rounded, smooth and balanced taste experience.A multi-stage process from botanicals to bottle resulting in exquisite flavour in every Fentimans drink
