Milks Spreads Stocks View all FAQs Milks [H4] Do Nuttelex plant-based milks contain lactose, whey or casein? No. They are completely free from lactose, whey and casein. [H4] How are Nuttelex plant-based milks made? We use locally grown almonds and oats. Almonds are blanched, roasted and ground into a smooth paste. Oats are enzyme-treated to create a naturally smooth and slightly sweet base. Each blend is mixed with purified water and fortified with vitamins and minerals. Some almond blends also include a small amount of tapioca syrup for sweetness. After a gentle heat treatment, the milks are packaged in cartons and ready for use. [H4] What is their shelf life and how long do they last once opened? Unopened cartons have a 12-month shelf life. The best-before date is printed on top of the carton. Store in the fridge at 4 degrees Celsius or below and use within 5 days. Shake well before each use. Spreads [H4] Can I freeze Nuttelex? It is not recommended but if you must, ensure you slowly thaw it in the fridge. As with all Nuttelex spreads, it is preservative free, so must always be refrigerated. Because they’re mono-material, even the label is made from the same PP, the whole tub can be recycled more easily, supporting a circular economy. We also take extra steps in our packaging: Nuttelex is shipped to stores in 100% recycled corrugated boxes, and we use paper (not foil) for our lid insert, making recycling simpler and more sustainable.
