Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.
24 Impact Weight: 30 / 100
80% Reputation

The site exhibits high information density with a significant ratio of substance to fluff. Specific technical equipment is cited by name, including the ‘Optos Ultra-widefield retinal scanner’ and ‘Henson Visual Fields,’ rather than using generic ‘state-of-the-art’ placeholders. Pricing is transparently disclosed for multiple age brackets and NHS eligibility statuses, and the body text contains specific dates for staff graduations and professional qualifications (e.g., ‘FBDO’ and ‘MCOptom’ in early 2026).

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

[H1] Your Eye Examination
Your eyes are precious.

At Ellerker Opticians we understand this and it is our privilege to help you see as well as possible.
The Optometry team believe that whatever your NHS eligibility, you should receive the highest quality of care that we can offer. This is the extended eye examination.

Our extended eye examination is a longer appointment, giving you the opportunity to discuss all of your concerns, issues and requirements in a relaxed environment. It also gives the Optometrist the time to conduct a comprehensive and personalised examination.

Ellerker Opticians have always invested in the latest equipment, and we have recently added an Optos Ultra-widefield scanner to our hospital-grade range of tests, which includes Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), applanation tonometry, iCare tonometry (no puff of air required!), and Henson Visual Fields. OCT and Optos imaging are not available under a basic NHS sight test. Click here to find out more about OCT and Optomap.

Both Iain and Tom hold higher qualifications in Optometry and keep up-to-date with the latest developments in their field to ensure they make the best use of our equipment.

Private patients receive an extended eye examination as standard, with a fee of £73, or £53 if you're under 40.

If you are entitled to a basic NHS sight test (including children), then we are delighted to offer the extended examination at a reduced fee of £50 for over 40's and £30 for those under 40.

🧭 Industry Context — common generic-claim patterns in Healthcare Providers & Medical Clinics to weigh the text against
Generic Claims: world-class healthcare, your health is our priority, compassionate care, trusted by thousands of patients, state-of-the-art facilities, leading specialists…
Red Flags: no CQC registration or equivalent regulatory status, practitioner names without GMC or registration numbers, guaranteed treatment outcomes for complex conditions, testimonials making medical claims, pricing deliberately hidden or available only after consultation, alternative treatments presented as equivalent to evidence-based medicine…
Semantic Drift Patterns: homepage claims specialist expertise but services page is general practice, claims evidence-based but promotes unproven treatments, homepage targets complex conditions but offerings are routine screenings, claims NHS and private but private is the only visible option…
Proof Expectations: CQC registration and rating, GMC or relevant professional registration for all practitioners, named specialist qualifications and training, published fees and pricing transparency, specific conditions treated with evidence-based protocols, insurance panel and self-pay information…
