Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.
20 Impact Weight: 30 / 100
67% Reputation

The site maintains a high ratio of substance to fluff by providing concrete pricing (e.g., £23, £33, £50 per month) and specific hardware details like Nokia WiFi 6 mesh routers. While headings like [H2] The future of broadband and [H2] Reliable networks are generic, they are immediately followed by specific technical specifications and regional availability. Body text avoids typical ISP vagueness by explicitly defining FTTC versus FTTP and describing the limitations of Fixed Wireless Access (FWA). Repetition is present regarding the 1000Mbps speed claim, but it serves as a core product specification rather than empty filler.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

📝 The Narrative — clean text per page (the substance-vs-filler signal)

[H2] Why are broadband speeds slower in rural areas?
While there are many reasons why your broadband speeds might be slowing you down online, the type of infrastructure available is key to what speeds you can receive in rural areas. Having outdated technology and a broadband network that can’t keep up will only slow you down online.
Rural areas tend to be far more difficult and expensive to reach, too, as there’s an increased distance from the street cabinets that you wouldn’t have in bustling cities. This all plays a part in impacting the speed rural areas can receive.
It’s an issue we see far too often in these areas, and that’s why it’s our mission to provide the best broadband – anywhere. We break down the barriers of broadband in rural areas by building brand-new infrastructure that’s built to be speedy – wherever you live.

[H2] What broadband services are available in rural areas?
We see the struggle of the digital divide for those looking for excellent internet in rural areas, as people don’t have as many options for broadband as those who live in the city. But don’t be discouraged, there are still plenty of options out there for you, too.
[H3] Fibre broadband
Fibre broadband is the fastest and most reliable broadband technology available in the UK. The downside? It’s unfortunately not available everywhere yet, and it is less likely to be available in rural areas, too.
With that said, there are two types of fibre broadband which may become available shortly: fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) and fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP).
FTTC is a part-fibre and part-copper connection which runs from the exchange to your nearest broadband cabinet. Copper telephone lines are then responsible for connecting the cabinet to your property. This is an issue for rural areas as the cabinets are few and far between, and the further you are from them, the slower your speeds will be.
FTTP is classed as the heavyweight of the broadband world. It’s an end-to-end fibre connection which runs all the way from the exchange, directly into your property, so the connection is far more reliable, and much faster with speeds up to 1000Mbps (or 1Gbps, to you and me).
Have a look at our fibre packages here.
[H3] Fixed wireless broadband
Fixed wireless broadband, also known as fixed wireless access (FWA), uses radio signals to connect you to the internet. Transmission mast radios communicate with a smaller radio receiver at your home. The main downside to fixed wireless is that you need line-of-sight to the mast to be connected, which limits who can get it, and how reliable it might be.
Have a look at our wireless package here.
[H3] ADSL broadband
ADSL broadband is widely available and works by using your copper telephone line to connect you to the internet. The main issue for this traditional type of broadband is similar to that of FTTC, but worse, as none of the connection is fibre. Instead, the signal has to pass through even more outdated copper to reach your home, which slows your speeds down even more.
The copper lines are also set to be switched off in the not-too-distant future – this is currently scheduled to happen at the end of January 2027.
[H3] Satellite broadband
Satellite broadband is a type of wireless broadband that works by connecting a satellite with a receiver dish at your home. This broadband is an option if you are very rural and can’t get a mobile signal. However, it is known for being both expensive and unreliable.
[H3] Mobile broadband
Mobile broadband, also known as 4G or 5G broadband, uses the same technology as the mobile data on your phone to get you online. This can be a good alternative for those who don’t have the option for wireless or fixed-line broadband, but speeds can vary, especially if there’s not a good phone signal in your home. Some providers can install a receiver on the outside of your home to help boost the signal and get you better speeds.

[H2] What’s the best broadband for rural areas?
The best broadband for rural areas is of course, fibre broadband! It’s stronger, faster and more reliable than wireless broadband because it uses fibre optic cable.
Fixed wireless broadband is also an excellent option, and if you can’t get fibre to your property, this is the option to go for. The speeds are brilliant, and it’s quick and easy to install.
Use our broadband coverage checker to see what you’re in range for. We can get to so many places in the remote parts of the UK, including:

Got Questions?

How does the broadband coverage checker work?

When you enter your postcode, our system cleverly checks to see if our engineers can
reach your home and get you installed. If you’re not within our range at the moment,
you'll be given the option to give your details. As soon as we're coming to your
area, we’ll let you know.

When will I get installed if I choose Airband as my ISP?

Typically, it can take up to three weeks to get everything up and running. But we can
talk you through the process step by step if you’re in range. If you’d like more
info, head to How
long will it take to get installed?

Does Airband do a survey before installing the equipment?

Yes. Our engineers need to do a free survey to make sure there are no problems that
might hinder installation. If you’d like more information, you can head to Are
installations subject to a survey?

How much broadband do I need?

It depends what you use your internet for, and how many people are using that
internet in your home. The good news, is that all of our packages come with
unlimited usage and with speeds up to 900Mbps. Typically, low usage would be roughly
2-10GB per month in a nuclear family. Higher usage would need 30GB per month for
gaming lovers and film geeks. Want more info? Head to How much
broadband do I need?

What is fibre broadband?

Fibre broadband, or fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP), is where fibre optic cables are
used to bring an ultrafast broadband connection all the way to your building. Want

is fibre broadband?

Yes, you can absolutely get business broadband at home. If you’re primarily running a business from home you might benefit from ultra fast, extra reliable broadband and first-rate support. Airband’s business broadband ticks all these boxes and more.

Can I use home broadband for business?

Of course. If you need to run a business or simply work from home, there’s no reason you can’t simply use your home connection. However, a dedicated business broadband connection can make a world of difference – especially if you don’t live alone and have to compete with family for bandwidth.
Dedicated business broadband offers extra reliability, faster support, and with Airband you’ll even get your own dedicated account manager.
A dedicated business internet connection may also be tax deductible.

How much does business broadband cost?

Our FTTP business broadband packages start at £50 a month for speeds of 150 Mbps and unlimited usage. You’ll also get:
A Nokia WiFi 6 mesh router included.
A dedicated account manager.
A 48 hour SLA (service level agreement), meaning that we will resolve an issue or provide a response within 48 hours of receiving a request.
If you’re not yet in reach of an Airband FTTP connection, we may still be able to connect you to our fixed wireless network, with packages also starting from £50 a month.
Get in touch with us if you’re looking for something bespoke to your business needs.

Do I have to pay line rental for business broadband?

Not with Airband. Most of our business broadband connections use FTTP technology, and where this isn’t available, we use fixed wireless access technology. This means neither a phone line, nor the cost to rent it, is necessary if you choose Airband for your business broadband.
