Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.

70% Reputation

The site exhibits high substance-to-fluff ratios for the MSP sector. While it utilizes some power words like innovative or proactive, it balances them with concrete data points such as the 2005 founding date, a specific physical address in Dublin 2, and defined response times (1 hour during business hours). The body text includes rare financial transparency for this industry, noting that an in-house IT manager costs €60,000+ and that their retainers typically start in the low thousands of euro.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

Common Questions
[H2] Frequently Asked Questions

What is managed IT support and how does it work?
+

Managed IT support means your business IT infrastructure is monitored, maintained, and supported by a dedicated external team on an ongoing basis. Rather than waiting for something to break, a managed IT provider like iPing proactively monitors your systems, applies security patches, manages backups, and resolves issues — often before you even notice them. You pay a fixed monthly fee, giving you predictable costs and reliable cover.

What IT services does iPing provide to Dublin businesses?
+

iPing provides a full range of managed IT services to businesses across Dublin and Ireland, including outsourced IT support, cyber security, Microsoft 365, cloud services, backup and disaster recovery, IT audits, IT strategic planning, and hardware and software procurement. We have been supporting Dublin businesses since 2005 and act as a complete outsourced IT department for many of our clients.

What is the difference between managed IT support and break-fix IT support?
+

Break-fix IT support means you only call an IT company when something goes wrong and pay per incident. Managed IT support is proactive — your provider monitors your systems continuously, prevents problems before they escalate, and is available when you need them for a fixed monthly cost. Managed IT support results in less downtime, better security, and more predictable IT spending.

How quickly does iPing respond to IT support requests?
+

iPing aims to respond to all support requests within one hour during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm). Critical issues are prioritised for immediate response. When you contact iPing, you speak directly to a senior engineer who knows your business — not a call centre operative reading from a script.

Does iPing provide cyber security services for Irish businesses?
+

Yes. iPing provides comprehensive cyber security services for businesses across Dublin and Ireland, including managed firewalls, email security, endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication, vulnerability assessments, and staff awareness training. We help businesses understand their risk exposure and put the right protections in place — without jargon or unnecessary complexity.

How long has iPing been providing IT support in Dublin?
+

iPing has been providing managed IT support to Dublin businesses since 2005 — over 20 years of experience. We are a Guaranteed Irish company, headquartered at 126 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, and all our engineers are based in Ireland. Our long-standing client relationships and high retention rate reflect the standard of service we consistently deliver.

Can iPing provide IT support for a small business in Dublin?
+

Yes. iPing works with businesses of all sizes, from small companies with a handful of staff to larger organisations with complex IT environments. We tailor our support packages to suit your requirements and budget. If you are unsure what level of support you need, we offer a complimentary IT assessment — a no-obligation review of your current setup.

SUB-PAGE (https://iping.ie/complimentary-it-assessment/) Free IT Assessment Dublin | Complimentary IT Review | iPing
[H2] What Is iPing's Complimentary IT Assessment?

Our Complimentary IT Assessment is a free, no-obligation review of your business IT setup, delivered by iPing's team of Dublin-based IT specialists. We sit down with you for one to two hours to understand how your technology is currently working, where the risks are, and what could be improved. You receive a written report with practical recommendations and approximate costs if changes are needed.
There is no requirement to engage iPing afterwards. Many of our long-term clients first met us through this assessment, but plenty of business owners use it simply to benchmark what their existing IT setup looks like — and we are perfectly happy with that.
[H2] Who Is the IT Assessment For?

The Complimentary IT Assessment is designed for businesses across Dublin and Ireland that want an honest, expert view of their IT environment. It is particularly useful if you are:

Considering switching IT providers and want to understand what good looks like
Reviewing your current cyber security and GDPR position
Concerned about backups, ransomware, or business continuity
Growing your team and worried that your IT will not scale
Inheriting an IT setup you did not put in place yourself
Without a current IT provider and want to know where to start

We work with SMEs across professional services, financial services, legal, healthcare, and the wider Dublin business community. The assessment is shaped by your specific sector and the way your team actually works.
[H2] What the Assessment Covers

During the review, we examine the core areas of your IT environment that most affect security, productivity, and cost:

Users and licensing — number of users, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace licensing, software audit
Operating systems and devices — Windows and macOS versions, end-of-life devices, patching status
Network and broadband — Wi-Fi coverage, network speed, segmentation, guest access
Firewall and endpoint security — perimeter protection, antivirus, endpoint detection and response (EDR)
GDPR and data protection — how personal data is stored, accessed, and protected
Backups and disaster recovery — what is being backed up, where it is stored, and whether restores have been tested
File sharing and collaboration — how staff share documents internally and with clients, including security implications
Multi-factor authentication and access controls — who has access to what, and how that access is protected

We also acknowledge what you are doing well — the assessment is not a sales exercise designed to find faults. Strong existing practices get recognised in the report.
[H2] What You Receive

Within a few working days of our visit, you receive a written assessment report containing:

A summary of your current IT setup, in plain English
An honest evaluation of risks and gaps, prioritised by impact
Practical recommendations to address each issue
Approximate costs where investment would be required
An acknowledgement of areas where your existing setup is working well

The report is yours to keep, regardless of whether you choose to work with iPing. If you take the recommendations to another IT provider, that is entirely your call.
[H2] Why iPing Offers This for Free

iPing has been supporting Dublin businesses since 2005. We have seen too many SMEs sleepwalk into avoidable problems — ransomware attacks, GDPR breaches, downtime — because no one ever sat down with them to look at the basics. The Complimentary IT Assessment is our way of giving business owners visibility over their own IT, without any commercial pressure attached.
It is also, frankly, how we win most of our long-term clients. If we do a thorough, honest review and you decide you want to keep working with us, that is a much better starting point than a sales pitch.
[H2] How to Book Your IT Assessment

To arrange your Complimentary IT Assessment, get in touch with iPing today. Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or use our contact page with a few details about your business, and we will be back to you within one working day to arrange a convenient time.
[H2] Frequently Asked Questions

[H3] Is the IT assessment really free?

Yes. There is no charge for the assessment, no obligation to engage iPing afterwards, and no follow-up sales pressure. You receive the written report regardless of what you decide to do next.
[H3] How long does the IT assessment take?

The on-site portion typically takes between one and two hours, depending on the size and complexity of your setup. The written report follows within a few working days.
[H3] Do you cover all of Dublin and Ireland?

Yes. We cover Dublin city, the wider Dublin area, and businesses across Ireland. On-site assessments are most easily arranged for Dublin and surrounding counties; remote assessments are available for businesses further afield.
[H3] What businesses is this assessment suitable for?

The assessment is designed for SMEs — typically businesses with between 5 and 100 staff. We work across professional services, financial services, legal, healthcare, and many other sectors.
[H3] Will iPing try to sell me services during the assessment?

No. The assessment is genuinely no-obligation. We provide the report and recommendations and leave the next step to you. If you want to discuss how iPing could help, we are happy to — but only if you ask.
[H3] What information do I need to prepare in advance?

Nothing in particular. We will guide you through what we need to see during the visit, and access to whoever manages your IT day-to-day (whether that is an internal staff member, a current provider, or yourself) is helpful but not essential.
[H3] Do you sign an NDA before the assessment?

Yes — we are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement before the assessment if your business requires one. Confidentiality is a given regardless.

[H1] Our Story

[H2] Where It All Started

iPing's founder, Mark Kelly, grew up in a family bed and breakfast business. From an early age, customer service wasn't just something he learned — it was something he lived. Looking after guests, solving problems quickly, and making people feel well looked after: those values were part of daily life long before they became a business philosophy.
After studying computers at college and spending years working across small IT providers and large multinationals, Mark had both the technical grounding and a growing itch to do things his own way. In 2005, he took the leap — and iPing started in the front room of his house.

[H2] From a Front Room to Baggot Street

Those early years were built on trust and word of mouth. iPing's first proper office was on Lad Lane in Dublin 2 — a stone's throw from where we are now. A few years ago we moved to our current home at 126 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, where we've continued to grow while staying true to the same principles the business started with.
A significant milestone came in 2018 when Danny Towell joined the business as Director of Sales, bringing with him a wealth of industry experience that has helped accelerate iPing's growth and strengthen the range of services we offer to clients. Over twenty years, we've expanded our team, broadened our services, and deepened our expertise — but the thing that hasn't changed is the founding belief that customer service is the foundation of everything. In IT support, trust isn't optional. Clients need to know that the people looking after their systems are reliable, honest, and genuinely invested in keeping their business running. It's also simply good business: it's far easier to keep a client who trusts you than to win a new one.

[H2] Twenty Years Supporting Dublin Businesses

The businesses we support are predominantly Irish SMEs — professional services firms, financial services companies, healthcare providers, legal practices, and growing businesses of all kinds. We've seen the IT landscape change dramatically since 2005: cloud computing, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity threats, remote working, AI. Each shift has required us to learn, adapt, and build new capabilities. What hasn't changed is our core approach — understand what the client needs, give honest advice, and deliver support that actually works.

[H2] What We Do Today

Today, iPing provides a comprehensive range of managed IT services to businesses across Dublin and Ireland:

Managed IT Support — helpdesk, remote monitoring, proactive maintenance, and onsite support
Cyber Security — endpoint protection, email security, network security, and security awareness
Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services — licensing, migration, management, and ongoing support
Backup & Disaster Recovery — ensuring your data is protected and recoverable when it matters
Network & Infrastructure — firewalls, switching, wireless, and structured cabling
IT Hardware & Software — procurement, supply, and configuration from leading vendors
IT Audits — independent health checks of your IT environment
IT Strategic Planning — practical, costed IT roadmaps aligned to your business goals

[H2] Our Approach

We are a managed service provider, which means our job is to keep your IT running reliably — not to wait for it to break and then fix it. We monitor client systems continuously, apply patches and updates proactively, and flag issues before they become problems.
We also believe in giving clients straight answers. If something you're already using is fine and doesn't need replacing, we'll say so. If there's a risk you should know about, we'll tell you clearly. If a decision can wait, we won't push you to make it before you're ready. That kind of honesty is what builds long-term relationships, and long-term relationships are what iPing is built on.

[H2] Based in Dublin, Focused on Ireland

Being a Dublin business matters to us. We understand the Irish SME market, the regulatory environment Irish businesses operate in, and the practical realities of running a company here. When our clients need someone onsite quickly, we're close. When they want to speak to someone who understands their context, they're talking to a team that does.
iPing Limited is registered in Ireland. Our address is 3rd Floor, 126 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, D02 X934.

[H1] Outsourced IT Department

[H2] What Is an Outsourced IT Department?

An outsourced IT department gives your business the full capabilities of an in-house IT team — helpdesk, cyber security, infrastructure management, strategic planning — without the cost and complexity of recruiting, training, and retaining IT staff directly. iPing acts as the IT department for businesses across Dublin and Ireland that want enterprise-grade IT support delivered as a predictable monthly service.

For most SMEs, hiring even one full-time IT manager costs €60,000+ per year before tools, training, holiday cover, and on-call expenses. Outsourcing to iPing typically delivers more capability at a lower total cost — and you get a team rather than a single point of failure.
[H2] What's Included in iPing's Outsourced IT Service

Our outsourced IT department service is comprehensive by design. It typically includes:

Unlimited helpdesk support — phone, email, and ticket-based support for all your staff, with named engineers who get to know your business
Proactive monitoring — 24/7 monitoring of your servers, networks, and critical systems so issues are caught before they affect your team
Cyber security — endpoint protection, email security, multi-factor authentication, and security awareness training built into the service
Patch management and updates — operating systems, applications, and firmware kept up to date
Microsoft 365 administration — licensing, user management, security baselines, and best-practice configuration
Backup management — daily backups of critical data, regular restore testing, and disaster recovery planning
Network and infrastructure management — firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, and VPN configuration and maintenance
Vendor management — we deal with your software vendors, internet providers, and hardware suppliers so you don't have to
Strategic IT planning — quarterly business reviews to align your IT roadmap with your business goals
On-site visits — regular scheduled visits plus on-site response when remote support is not enough

[H2] Why Dublin Businesses Outsource Their IT to iPing

iPing has been the outsourced IT department for Dublin SMEs since 2005. The businesses we work with consistently tell us the same things matter most:

Predictable costs — a single monthly retainer covers the vast majority of what your business needs, with no surprise bills
Senior expertise on demand — direct access to experienced engineers, not first-line scripts
No staff continuity risk — when an in-house IT person leaves, knowledge leaves with them. With iPing, the team stays
Sector experience — we have supported professional services, financial services, legal, healthcare, and more for over 20 years
Genuine partnership — most of our outsourced clients have been with us 10+ years; we are not a churn-and-burn provider
Local presence — based in Dublin 2, with engineers who can be on-site quickly when needed

[H2] Who Is Outsourced IT For?

Our outsourced IT service is designed for SMEs in Dublin and across Ireland — typically businesses with 5 to 100 staff. It is particularly well suited to organisations that:

Have outgrown ad-hoc or break-fix IT support and need a more strategic partner
Cannot justify the cost of a full in-house IT team
Operate in regulated sectors (finance, healthcare, legal) where compliance matters
Want predictable IT costs that scale with the business
Have an existing IT person who needs senior-level backup and specialist support
Are growing and need IT infrastructure that can grow with them

[H2] How Outsourcing Works with iPing

Engagements typically follow a simple, predictable path:

Initial conversation — a no-obligation discussion of your business and current IT setup
Complimentary IT Assessment — a free review of your environment to understand exactly where you are starting from
Proposal — a clear scope and monthly cost based on your team size, complexity, and requirements
Onboarding — we document your environment, deploy our tools, and meet your team. Most onboardings complete within 2 to 4 weeks
Ongoing service — your IT runs smoothly with proactive support, regular reviews, and a single point of accountability

[H2] How Much Does Outsourced IT Cost?

Outsourced IT pricing depends on the size of your team, the complexity of your environment, and the level of cyber security and compliance you require. As a guide, monthly retainers for SMEs typically start in the low thousands of euro. For an accurate quote based on your specific requirements, the best place to start is our Complimentary IT Assessment.
[H2] Frequently Asked Questions

[H3] What is the difference between outsourced IT and break-fix support?

Break-fix is reactive — you call when something breaks, and you pay per incident. Outsourced IT is proactive and comprehensive — you pay a fixed monthly fee that covers ongoing support, monitoring, security, and strategic planning. For most growing businesses, outsourced IT works out cheaper and more reliable.
[H3] Do we lose control of our IT if we outsource?

No. You retain full ownership and control of your data, accounts, and infrastructure. iPing acts as your IT department under your direction. All key decisions are made by you, not us.
[H3] Can iPing work alongside an existing in-house IT person?

Absolutely. We frequently support businesses where there is one in-house IT person who handles day-to-day issues, and iPing provides senior backup, specialist expertise, holiday cover, and project capacity. This is one of our most common engagement models.
[H3] What happens if we want to leave?

Our contracts are designed to be fair to both sides. We do not lock clients in with long termination notice periods, and all your data and systems remain yours. We will hand over cleanly to whoever you choose to work with next. The fact that most of our clients have been with us for 10+ years says more about our service than any contract clause.
[H3] How quickly can iPing respond when something goes wrong?

Response times are defined in your service level agreement. For most clients, critical issues are responded to within 30 minutes during business hours. Outside business hours, support is available based on your agreement. Most issues are resolved remotely; on-site response in Dublin is typically within hours.
[H3] Will iPing manage our existing software and systems?

Yes. We support a wide range of business applications, line-of-business software, and sector-specific systems. During onboarding we document everything in your environment so we can support it end-to-end.
[H3] Is outsourced IT GDPR compliant?

iPing's services are designed with GDPR in mind. We sign data processing agreements with all clients, follow strict access controls, and our tooling is configured for EU data residency where applicable. We can also support your wider GDPR compliance through documentation, training, and access controls.

[H1] Cyber Security

[IMG: iPing managed cyber security services for Dublin businesses]

[H2] Cyber Security for Dublin Businesses

Cyber security is no longer optional for Irish SMEs. Ransomware attacks, phishing campaigns, and business email compromise are now everyday threats — and the businesses being targeted are not just large enterprises. Small and medium-sized organisations across Dublin and Ireland are increasingly in the crosshairs because they often lack the layered defences larger companies take for granted.

iPing has been delivering cyber security to Dublin SMEs since 2005. Our approach is practical, multi-layered, and built around the way real Irish businesses actually operate — not theoretical frameworks that look good on paper but fall apart in practice.
[H2] The Cyber Threats Facing Irish SMEs

The threat landscape for Irish businesses has changed dramatically. The most common incidents we see and respond to include:

Ransomware — attackers encrypt your data and demand payment to release it. Even with backups, recovery can take days or weeks
Phishing and social engineering — fraudulent emails impersonating banks, suppliers, or colleagues, designed to steal credentials or trigger payments
Business Email Compromise (BEC) — attackers gain access to a business email account and impersonate the owner to redirect invoices or transfer funds
Credential theft — stolen passwords used to access cloud platforms, email, and financial systems
Supply chain attacks — compromise of a trusted supplier or software provider that cascades into your business
Insider mistakes — accidental data exposure by staff, often through misdirected emails, lost laptops, or weak passwords

The financial impact is significant. The average ransomware incident costs Irish SMEs tens of thousands of euro in recovery, downtime, and lost business — before considering reputational damage and potential GDPR fines.
[H2] iPing's Multi-Layered Cyber Security Approach

Effective cyber security is not a single product. It is a combination of technology, process, and people, all reinforcing each other. iPing's managed cyber security service is built around five layers of protection:

Endpoint protection — next-generation antivirus and endpoint detection and response (EDR) on every device, powered by ESET
Email security — advanced email filtering with Avanan / Check Point Harmony Email, blocking phishing, malware, and impersonation attempts before they reach the inbox
Network security — SonicWall and Zyxel firewalls, VPN access, and network segmentation to keep attackers out and contain incidents
Identity and access — multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access policies, and least-privilege controls across Microsoft 365 and your other platforms
Backup and recovery — immutable, off-site backups with regular restore testing, so even if attackers do get through, your business can recover

Every layer is monitored and managed by the iPing team, with proactive alerting when anything unusual happens.
[H2] What's Included in iPing's Managed Cyber Security Service

Our cyber security service is designed to give Dublin SMEs enterprise-grade protection without enterprise complexity. It typically includes:

Next-generation antivirus and EDR on every endpoint (Windows, macOS)
Advanced email security with anti-phishing, anti-impersonation, and attachment sandboxing
Microsoft 365 security baseline configuration and ongoing hardening
Multi-factor authentication enforcement across email, cloud apps, and remote access
Firewall management and threat monitoring
Patch management for operating systems and key applications
Regular vulnerability scanning
Phishing simulation and security awareness training for staff
Backup management and disaster recovery testing
Incident response and remediation when something does happen
Security reporting and quarterly review meetings

[H2] The Tools and Partners We Trust

iPing has carefully selected security partners with proven track records and Irish business support:

ESET — endpoint protection trusted by 110+ million users globally; iPing is an ESET Authorised Partner
Check Point Harmony Email (Avanan) — AI-driven email security that catches what Microsoft 365's built-in filters miss
SonicWall — enterprise-grade firewalls and VPN for SMEs
Microsoft Defender — integrated security for Microsoft 365 environments
Veeam, MSP360, and NAKIVO — backup and disaster recovery
DESlock+ — encryption for sensitive data and devices

We choose tools because they work — not because of marketing. Our partner accreditations mean better pricing, faster vendor support, and direct access to specialist expertise when you need it.
[H2] GDPR, NIS2, and Compliance

Irish businesses face increasing regulatory expectations around cyber security. iPing's services are designed to support compliance with:

GDPR — appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption, access controls, and breach detection
NIS2 Directive — enhanced security requirements for medium and large businesses in critical sectors. Even if you are not directly in scope, your clients increasingly are
Sector-specific requirements — for legal, financial services, and healthcare clients with industry-specific obligations
Cyber insurance requirements — many insurers now require MFA, EDR, and backup verification before issuing or renewing policies

We support clients through documentation, policy development, evidence gathering for audits, and incident response planning.
[H2] Who Is iPing's Cyber Security For?

Our managed cyber security service is designed for Dublin and Irish SMEs that take security seriously but cannot justify a full in-house security team. It is particularly well suited to:

Professional services firms handling client-confidential data
Financial services and accounting practices subject to regulatory oversight
Legal practices with confidentiality and GDPR obligations
Healthcare providers managing sensitive patient data
Businesses that have suffered a recent incident and want to prevent recurrence
Organisations preparing for cyber insurance applications or renewals
Companies bidding for contracts with security requirements (NIS2, ISO 27001 alignment)

[H2] Frequently Asked Questions

[H3] How much does managed cyber security cost?

Managed cyber security pricing depends on the size of your team, the systems you use, and the level of protection required. iPing's cyber security service is typically delivered as a per-user monthly fee covering all the layers described above. For an accurate quote, the best place to start is a Complimentary IT Assessment.
[H3] What should I do if my business has just been hit by a cyber attack?

Act quickly. Disconnect affected devices from the network to prevent spread, but do not power them off (this can destroy forensic evidence). Contact iPing immediately on 01 524 1350 — we have helped Dublin businesses recover from ransomware, business email compromise, and data breaches. The faster you respond, the better the outcome.
[H3] Is Microsoft 365's built-in security enough?

Microsoft 365 includes useful baseline security, but it is not enough on its own for most businesses. Sophisticated phishing campaigns, business email compromise, and zero-day threats often bypass Microsoft's default filters. iPing layers additional email security (Check Point Harmony / Avanan) on top of Microsoft 365 to catch what gets through.
[H3] Do we need cyber insurance?

Cyber insurance is increasingly important for Irish SMEs, particularly those handling client data or relying on online operations. Most insurers now require specific security controls — MFA, endpoint protection, backups, employee training — before issuing or renewing policies. iPing's managed security service helps clients meet these requirements.
[H3] What is NIS2 and does it apply to my business?

NIS2 is an EU directive expanding cyber security requirements to a wider range of medium and large businesses across critical sectors. Even if you are not directly in scope, your clients and supply chain partners increasingly are — meaning you may face NIS2-aligned requirements through commercial contracts. iPing supports clients with NIS2 readiness assessments and ongoing compliance.
[H3] Can iPing train our staff on cyber security?

Yes. Security awareness training is included as part of our managed cyber security service. We deliver realistic phishing simulations, regular training modules, and tailored guidance for your specific team. Human risk is one of the biggest factors in successful attacks — training is one of the highest-ROI security investments you can make.
[H3] How quickly can iPing detect a cyber incident?

Our endpoint detection and response tools generate alerts within minutes of suspicious activity, with iPing engineers reviewing and escalating during business hours. For clients on enhanced cover, monitoring extends outside business hours. Most incidents are contained before they cause significant harm.
