Information Density: Viasat, Inc. – Signal Evidence & AI Readability

Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.
19 Impact Weight: 30 / 100
63% Reputation

Information density is remarkably high for an enterprise site. While headings like Reach Above, Go Beyond are pure fluff, the body text is packed with technical specifications including specific download speeds (35-150 Mbps), upload limits (4 Mbps), and precise data thresholds (1,000 GB for CAF II plans). The mention of the ViaSat-3 F3 satellite’s 1Tbps capacity provides a concrete technical anchor missing from typical MSP websites.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

📝 The Narrative — clean text per page (the substance-vs-filler signal)

*After you use your plan's High-Speed Data, or on the Choice unlimited data plan if your usage exceeds what we anticipate for a typical business user (1,000 GB), you will continue to receive unlimited data (which may be referred to as "Standard Data"); however, Viasat may prioritize Standard Data behind other customers during network congestion, which will result in slower speeds.
Office Hours is a service for use with web browsing, bulk transfers, real-time communications, network storage, social networking (excluding embedded streaming videos), VPN, and email. Not all internet traffic sources are identifiable and available to benefit from Office Hours. Office Hours does not include video streaming, real-time entertainment, peer-to-peer networking, gaming, and any other categories of internet content not specifically stated above. Office Hours is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, daily. Available time may vary by location. For additional details, visit viasat.com/officehours. Office Hours is only available on select service plans and is not available on CAF II service plans. Office Hours users who use more than 2 TB in a month, which represents the top percentage of users during the hours of 8 am to 5 pm local time, may be contacted and asked to reduce usage of Office Hours. If your usage pattern exceeds the prior referenced amount for two months in a six-month period, Viasat may terminate or suspend your use of Office Hours.
***The CAF II plan comes with 1,000 GB of High-Speed Data. After you've used your monthly High-Speed Data, you will continue to receive unlimited data (referred to as "Standard Data"); however, Viasat may prioritize Standard Data behind other customers during times of network congestion, which may results in slower speeds.

[H2] Frequently asked questions

[H3] Do I have to sign a contract?

Viasat customers must sign Viasat's Customer Agreement. However, your service terms may vary. Depending on the Viasat Internet service plan options available at your location, you either commit to (1) a month-to-month service term, which you may cancel at any time, (2) a 36-month service term, or (3) if you are on a Connection 25 or Voice-Only Connection service plan, a 12-month miminum service term. If you disconnect before the end of the applicable 36- or 12-month minimum service term, you may be charged early termination fees.

The Business Added Choice plan comes with no annual contract. Cancel any time with no early termination fee!

[H3] What can I expect during installation?

The installation process is quick and easy. A certified professional technician will install the equipment and activate the Viasat Internet service at your business location. The technician must be able to access your property using a standard company vehicle to complete your installation. Viasat customers cannot install their own satellite dishes. Installation requires a trained technician to make sure the dish is pointed at the satellite accurately and to verify that all connections are properly made. Installation typically takes 2-3 hours. A Viasat-certified technician will discuss site requirements with you, such as a clear line of site to the southern sky, and will help you choose the best location for the dish. Someone over the age of 18 must be present during installation.

If your business is in a leased or shared building, you will need to check with your landlord to see if they allow the Viasat satellite dish. The Viasat dish is governed by the FCC Over-the-Air Reception Devices (“OTARD”) Rule. The Viasat dish has the same classification as other satellite dishes like satellite television dishes. It can usually be mounted unless your landlord specifically prohibits dishes of any kind.

[H3] Is satellite internet good for businesses as a primary connection?

Viasat Business Internet is a great option as a primary or backup connection. Where cable and fiber are unavailable, Viasat provides primary internet to customers in many different industries. When businesses use other connection types for their primary internet, Viasat can be a great backup solution to help businesses stay online when terrestrial internet services are disconnected by outages, disasters, or local infrastructure issues.

[H3] What kind of applications does Office Hours support?

Business apps that meet the classification of one of the following categories of internet content are included (but not limited to): web browsing and web-based tools (e.g., Google, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite), bulk transfers (e.g., Dropbox, SharePoint), real-time communications (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Teams), network storage (e.g., iDrive, SharePoint), social networking (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, minus video streaming), VPN, or email. Please speak with a customer service representative to be sure applications qualify, and request to add an application if it is not included, but falls under one of the above-mention

[H2] Frequently asked questions

[H3] What is Viasat internet?

Viasat Internet is residential satellite internet service. We’re dedicated to bringing reliable, high-speed connectivity to the hardest to reach people, places, and things — including families in rural or remote areas where cable companies don’t go.

[H3] Who is Viasat best for?

Viasat Internet is best for people who have trouble getting reliable internet because they live in remote or rural areas where cable or fiber companies don’t go. It’s great for essential, everyday online activities like shopping, banking, education, and staying in touch with family.

[H3] How does satellite technology work?

This is how Viasat satellite internet works:
1. You click on your favorite website using your laptop or mobile device. Your request goes to your Viasat modem, then through a short cable to the dish outside your home.
2. The dish installed at your home beams your request up to our satellite.
3. Our satellite sends your website request down to a gateway station connected to our ground network.
4. The station relays your request to your favorite website.
5. The website delivers the information you requested back to the station, which sends it up to our satellite to be sent directly to you.

Read our blog post titled: How it Works: The technology behind satellite internet

[H3] What activities are not ideal with satellite internet?

In general, satellite internet is not an ideal solution for VPNs and online video games that require very low latency. However, Viasat Internet does work for families who want to stream video, work from home, and more. It’s also great for essential, everyday online activities like shopping, banking, education, staying in touch with family, and staying entertained.

[H3] Where is Viasat internet available?

Viasat Internet is available to most of the U.S. population, including in remote and rural areas where other internet companies offer slower service, or no service at all. For more information on where Viasat Internet is available, search plans here.

[H3] Why should I get Viasat Internet?

You should get Viasat Internet because:
It’s fast: Viasat offers plans with up 100+ Mbps — available on select residential service plans in select areas.
It’s a great value: you get more data for your money than the competition. Plus, there are never any automatic overage fees on our residential service.
It’s simple: installation typically takes just 2-3 hours. Once you’re connected, managing your account is easy with our My Viasat online portal. You’ll learn more about connecting to your online account once you’re signed up for service. Sign up here.

Speeds are "up to," are not guaranteed and will vary. One-time standard installation fee may be charged at the time of sale. Monthly service fee, equipment lease fee and taxes apply. Service is not available in all areas. Offer may be changed or withdrawn at any time.

Generic Claims: your technology partner, 99.9% uptime guaranteed, enterprise-grade solutions at SMB prices, we keep your business running, trusted by businesses worldwide, IT solutions simplified…
Red Flags: uptime guarantees without SLA documentation, vendor partner claims without tier specification, cybersecurity services without security certifications, no data centre location or ownership clarity, enterprise claims with no enterprise client evidence, unlimited support claims without terms defined…
Semantic Drift Patterns: homepage claims enterprise but services are break-fix for small offices, claims proactive monitoring but service page describes reactive support, homepage shows cloud expertise but offerings are basic hosting resale, claims cybersecurity expertise but no security-specific certifications…
Proof Expectations: specific vendor certifications with partner tier, published SLA terms with penalty clauses, data centre locations and tier ratings, ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification details, named client case studies with measurable outcomes, incident response and disaster recovery documentation…
