Information Density: Wessex Internet – Signal Evidence & AI Readability

Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.
27 Impact Weight: 30 / 100
90% Reputation

The information density is exceptionally high, with a very low ratio of power-word fluff to specific nouns. Headings like Full Fibre 900 and 250 Mbps are immediately followed by granular body text detailing monthly costs (e.g., £29 inc VAT), activation fees (£49), and specific contract lengths (18 months). The presence of eight distinct, named customer case studies (e.g., Jonathan Hoskyns in North Perrott) provides a substance-to-generic-assertion ratio rarely seen in this category.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

[H2] Jonathan Hoskyns in North Perrott

Jonathan Hoskyns runs North Perrott Fruit Farm in South Somerset with his wife. As both a residential and business customer, Jonathan knows how important fast, reliable internet is for staying connected and running a rural business efficiently.
"We’d been waiting for fibre for years. Wessex did the job ten times quicker than anyone else and really got on with it. The parish council used to be full of complaints about the internet, but those have completely disappeared.” - Jonathan Hoskyns, North Perrott Fruit Farm.

[H2] Winterbourne Stickland Nursery School

When the old school site in Winterborne Stickland went up for auction, villagers worried it might be demolished or redeveloped. They quickly formed a community interest company and launched a GoFundMe to buy the building and reopen it as a nursery. Their efforts paid off, and the nursery now offers full-time, year-round childcare for local families with children from nine months old.
“This has been an amazing community project,” she said. It’s a difficult world at times and it has been so incredibly heart-warming to see how much kindness and community spirit there is within our local community.”
- Anna Way, Nursery Trustee

[H2] Picturesque village Milton Abbas in Dorset

Wessex Internet developed a bespoke approach tailored to the unique setting of Milton Abbas. A critical tool in this project was an electric drill, purchased specifically for the Milton Abbas build. The residents are delighted with the ultrafast broadband, and that there are no visible traces of the extensive work undertaken.
"We're now lucky enough to have fibre broadband into each and every property. The unique street picture of Milton Abbas has been unaffected and thankfully, we're now in the 21st century!" - Mike Gibbons, Sub-Postmaster in Milton Abbas.

[H2] No location is too remote

Dorset businessman Gary and his wife Morag thought they would never get a decent internet connection to their home. Living in the middle of a forest meant that the major internet providers he approached considered the area too remote to provide connections to, and one told him that it would be impossible. But then he asked us to help.
“The team at Wessex Internet had a farmer’s mentality. They just started digging! They had to drag the cable under miles of muddy fields, under two roads, under two rivers then through a bog in the middle of a wood to get to us. We'd been told that it couldn't be done, but now have 100Mbps and can work from home."

[H2] Home broadband FAQS

What is home broadband?

Home broadband is a high-speed internet connection that is always on, allowing users to access the internet for web browsing, video and music streaming, online gaming, video conferencing and more. With Wessex Internet, your home broadband is powered by fibre optic cable, giving you the fastest and most reliable fibre connection in the South West.

What broadband speed do I need?

Your required broadband speed will depend on a number of factors, including how many people will be using the internet at the same time and what the internet is being used for. For general use at home, anywhere between a 100 Mbps and 900 Mbps download speed is plenty. Find out more about which broadband speed is right for you here.

I'm moving home - can I get out of my existing broadband contract?

If you are moving home and your current broadband provider cannot service you in your new home, or you want to switch to a rural internet provider, you may have to pay an exit fee if you leave your contract early. You will also need to ensure you give your current provider enough notice (often 30 days). Check the terms of your broadband contract and contact Wessex Internet today if you are thinking of switching to us and need advice.

Which areas does Wessex Internet provide home broadband internet to?

Wessex Internet is a leading full fibre home broadband provider across Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, servicing areas like the New Forest, Sturminster Newton and Shrewton. Our network is expanding all the time, so if you want to find out whether we service your area, search for your postcode here.

[H2] Whole Home WiFi FAQs

Where should I place my WiFi hub for the best signal?

For strong, reliable performance, your hub should be placed in a central, open area of your home, ideally at eye level or higher. Avoid hiding it behind furniture or placing it next to electronics like TVs, cordless phones or printers, as these can interfere with your Wi-Fi signal. Good placement alone solves many WiFi problems.

Why does my WiFi drop when certain appliances are being used?

Microwaves, older TVs, wireless speakers and Bluetooth devices can all create interference, especially on the 2.4GHz WiFi band. If your connection drops at specific times or when certain devices switch on, try moving to the 5GHz band on your hub or device. This often reduces interference and stabilises your signal.

What can I do if I live in a countryside home with thick stone walls?

Many rural properties in Dorset, Somerset and surrounding areas have solid walls that naturally block Wi-Fi signal. Start by placing your hub in a central, elevated position. If dead zones remain, a Whole Home WiFi system can help your signal travel through challenging building layouts more effectively.
