Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.
28 Impact Weight: 30 / 100
93% Reputation

Information density is exceptionally high, with a near-zero saturation of marketing fluff. Headings such as [H3] Case depth 10.1mm and [H3] Movement Sellita SW210-1 provide granular technical specs rather than power-word-heavy slogans. The body text contains high-value nouns and numbers, including the specific factory location (Glasgow southside), team size (3 to 30), and the exact number of specialist enamellers (6).

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

[H6] At anOrdain, we believe that the best results are achieved when designing and making are done under the same roof. Some of our best ideas come from trying one thing and discovering another: the loop between designing and making is at the heart of who we are.
[H6] We’ve become known for our enamel dials, a signature touch that requires years of expertise to master and imbues each watch with warmth and character. Typically the preserve of only a few ultra-high end brands, we are committed to producing the finest traditionally-made enamels as well as innovating within the field. In 2019 we introduced what we believe to be the world’s first and only fumé enamel dials.

[H6] Since anOrdain was founded in 2016, the team has grown from three to around 30. Our six enamellers range in specialisms such as hand-engraving and champlevé, while Cara Louise now focuses solely on our porcelain dials. Our craftspeople’s skills extend to thermal bluing, dial printing and product development.
[H6] In 2025 we moved into our purpose-designed factory in the southside of Glasgow; a property built to allow us to develop new areas of production, and train more craftspeople in existing fields, from type design to cold forging, and assembly to leatherwork.

SPECIFICATIONS ↓

The world’s first fumé enamel dial is the result of a technique painstakingly developed over several years, born out of a happy accident. We released our first iteration in 2019 and recently refined the process to further exaggerate its smoky effect and add depth to the outer perimeter. The case and typography use the same cartography-inspired design language as the Model 1 Opaque – with the typographic design stemming from old maps of the Scottish Highlands, encapsulating the detail, precision and craft of the brand’s ethos. This inspiration also informed the hands, which resemble traditional compass needles.

Fading from a rich garnet at its centre to a deep wine red at its edge, this dial has a smouldering warmth that befits its smoky texture.

Our watchmakers applied themselves to master the craft of heat tempering steel. The hands are individually polished, then carefully heat-treated to an even and consistent straw-coloured finish.

A choice of hand-wound Sellita SW210, automatic La Joux-Perret G101, or the A1, our version of the G101. After assembly, we regulate the movement to suit your individual needs. Simple things like knowing which wrist you will wear it on can increase their accuracy.

[H2] Details

The silver dial blank is stamped to have a domed top, which allows the enamel to have greater depth – and therefore depth of colour – around the outer edge. We developed the technique after noticing a gradient effect in a dial that had accidentally been warped in the kiln.
