Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.

The information density is exceptionally high, particularly on the Calibres sub-page which provides granular technical specifications for 12 different proprietary movements. For instance, the Calibre SMA07 is described with a specific frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz) and a thickness of 3.25 mm, moving far beyond generic luxury adjectives. While the homepage uses some industry power words like excellence and know-how, they are anchored to specific claims about the movement strategy initiated in 2015 and the assembly of proprietary movements in Neuchâtel. The ratio of marketing fluff to technical specification is heavily skewed toward substance.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

[H3] IN-HOUSE CALIBRES
Since 2015, Speake Marin has initiated a movement strategy to fully develop and assemble proprietary movements within its atelier in the Neuchatel area, Switzerland. This new strategy gave birth to the “SMA” collection, which includes Openworked, closed dials and Haute Horlogerie movements. Firstly, Speake Marin focused its efforts on Haute Horlogerie 3 Hz movements (Minute Repeater and Double Tourbillon). Then, the brand developed Hour Minutes Seconds 4Hz movements, which were featured in the new One&Two design as an Openworked movement named SMA01.

In our atelier in the Neuchâtel region, the Speake Marin watchmakers build the movements and assemble the watches in a rigorous Swiss watchmaking tradition where know-how and excellence are the key words. It takes some forty different skills to produce a timepiece, which reflects the diversity of people needed to create a new timepiece. From design to movement development and production, the last steps are assembling and the external parts decoration. [H3] Our Calibres

[H3] Calibre SMA01-1
The Calibre SMA01 incorporates a self-winding movement with micro-rotor COSC Certified. The first movement featured in the new “One & Two” design was an Openworked calibre named SMA01, which has the distinctive feature of a small seconds counter at 1:30. The “One & Two” Openworked model is equipped with the SMA01 calibre, which remained slim and high-performing by integrating the micro automatic mass flush with the bridges. This new version has been reworked to be really uncluttered, especially the small second dial which is integrated within the movement without any ring thanks to a very sophisticated module. Each movement carries a COSC certificate assuring its precision and reliability, accentuating the technical magnificence of this stunning calibre which is entirely assembled and adjusted by hand.
SMA01

[H3] Calibre SMA01-3
In this case, Speake Marin challenges the position of the small second and imagines it at 1:30. It generates a new movement design with rounded bridges, openings in the plate, new positions of the wheels and a vanishing point at 1:30. The movement has a visual balance between the barrel, the oscillating mass and the small seconds at 1:30. It creates a triangle shape, which plays with the number “three”. This design is the foundation for the whole Speake Marin Openworked movement collection. The SMA01-3 calibre has been optimized for this new SMA01 generation and now includes a reverse wheel allowing self-winding in both directions.
SMA01

[H3] Calibre SMA02
The new movement featured in One&Two Openworked Dual Time is therefore the SMA02 Calibre: an Openworked movement, which integrates a Dual Time indication and a retrograde date. It keeps the visual balance between the barrel, the oscillating mass and the small seconds at 1:30. It creates a triangulation which plays with the “3” figure, as is the case with the other Openworked models.
SMA02

[H3] Calibre SMA03
Following the success of the One & Two "Openworked" model presented above, which introduced the new Piccadilly case and the Speake Marin SMA01 movement, Speake Marin launched a new generation of One & Two with a closed dial: the “Academic” model, Caliber SMA03. This movement with micro rotor placed at 9 o'clock, has the particularity of having its small second at 1:30 and has a power reserve of 52 hours. The movement of the One & Two Academic, not skeletonized, is called SMA03.
SMA03

[H3] Calibre SMA03-T
The new SMA03-T Calibre is part of the SMA movement family and follows the Openworked collection approach with the small seconds at 1:30. The T-reference stands for “Tradition” because traditional and high-end finishes have been added to this movement: rhodium, inner angle, hand-polished angle among others. The Calibre SMA03-T is revealed in the Ripples Black Original timepiece.
SMA03-T

[H3] SMA03-T20
In-house Calibre SMA03-T20 celebrates the 20th Anniversary of Speake Marin brand.
It features a mechanical self-winding with an integrated micro-rotor, Geneva stripes, hand finished inner angles and hand chamfering. The T-reference stands for “Tradition” because traditional and very high-end finishings have been added to this movement: rhodium, inner angle, hand-polished angle among others.
SMA03-T20

[H3] Calibre SMA03-TD
The new SMA03-TD Calibre is used in the new Ripples Date timepiece. The T-reference stands for “Tradition” because traditional and very high-end finishings have been added to this movement: rhodium, inner angle, hand-polished angle among others. Calibre SMA03-TD automatic movement with fully integrated micro-rotor. Hand-finished bridges, inner angle, rhodium-plated, geneva stripes. The D refers to the large "Date" window positioned at 6 o'clock.
SMA03-TD

[H3] Calibre SMA05-1
The SMA05-1 Calibre is part of the SMA proprietary movement family and follows the “Openworked collection” approach with a strong element at 1:30: the flying tourbillon. Speake Marin is the only watchmaker who positions its tourbillon there. It is actually a real constraint in terms of movement development since the tourbillon cage at 1:30 has to go through the time setting module. The SMA05-1 Calibre displays a power reserve indicator at 7:30 (72 hours). It creates a visual balance between the barrel, the oscillating mass, the tourbillon and the power reserve, while the sharp edges of the bridges are counterbalancing the classical shape of the case. The barrel is engraved with the model name: “One&Two Openworked Flying Tourbillon”
SMA05 V1

[H3] Calibre SMA05-2
The latest SMA05-2 Calibre is part of the SMA proprietary movement family and follows the “Openworked collection” approach with a strong element at 1:30: the flying tourbillon. SMA05 v2 in house calibre includes a Mechanical self-winding movement, Hours, Minutes, Tourbillon between 1 and 2 o’clock. 72-hour power reserve between 7 and 8 o’clock. Frequency 3 Hz (21,600 vph), 290 components, 35 jewels. Côtes de Genève, circular-graining, beadblasting and chamfering.
SMA05 V2

[H3] Calibre SMA-HH02
The Calibre SMA-HH02 features a 60 seconds Flying Tourbillon, Minute Repeater Carillon. On this Calibre, the finishing and decoration are very refined, which demonstrates Speake Marin’s Haute-Horlogerie know-how: all the surfaces are reworked, corrected and decorated. So, the Tourbillon at 6 o’clock features a hand-finished 60-second cage that can be fully appreciated through the display back when the tourbillon is over. The lower tourbillon cage is supported by a striking paddle-shaped bridge offering clear visual access to the surrounding gears below. The bridges and main plate are circular-grained with polished screw heads and polished countersinks.
SMA-HH02

[H3] Calibre SMA-HH06
In-house Calibre SMA-HH06 is equipped with a manual wound Vertical Double Tourbillon. Patented rate equalizer between the two tourbillons. The opening of the dial required to re-design the full movement so that the two bridges could hold the tourbillons from the plate. These two tourbillons benefit from a rate equaliser, Speake Marin patented. This equaliser links the two wheels by a spiral, which compensates speed from one tourbillon to another so as to insure a perfect chronometry (please refer to the graph on the right-hand side). Matt black Tourbillon bridges, matt black floating dial with gold-coated Arab numbers… the overall design is definitely contemporary. Finally, heart-shaped golden hands sign this rare Haute Horlogerie piece, as a Speake Marin hallmark.
SMA HH-06

[H3] Calibre SMA07
Ripples Skeleton houses the first manufacture innovative, ultra-thin, self-winding skeleton movement operating at high frequency and providing hours, minutes and small seconds. The SMA07 calibre comes with a regulating organ that beats at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour at 5 Hz, thus ensuring improved chronometric performance with a time accuracy of -/+ 5 seconds per day.
