Information Density: Reach Jobs – Signal Evidence & AI Readability

Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.
18 Impact Weight: 30 / 100
60% Reputation

The site exhibits a moderate level of heading fluff, such as the H2 Big or small, local or national, serious or laugh-out-loud, which lacks a specific noun or metric. However, the body substance ratio is high, providing hard numbers like 120 trusted brands, 2,000 newsroom employees, and reaching 69% of the UK online population. The repetition of the Your story concept is present but balanced by specific departmental descriptions for Editorial, Commercial, and Technology. Specificity is anchored by naming dozens of award-winning titles and regional offices.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

Life at Reach

[H2] We respect everyone's story

We're building a culture where you can be yourself - we hear every voice and every story, and we want everyone to thrive.

We also want our teams to represent our audience and the communities we serve.

So we help people from all backgrounds grow and succeed, and be their true selves.

I thrive in the collaborative and inclusive environment at Reach, delivering impactful solutions while continuously learning, growing and building relationships across diverse teams.

Hannah Knoetze, Product Owner, IT

[H2] Grow with us

Growth and development is part of everyday life at Reach. It's about engaging in exciting and impactful work that truly makes a difference.
We'll empower you to drive your personal development and growth, and support you to achieve your goals. This might be through structured learning programmes, hands-on leaning projects and 'on-the-job' experience, or through an apprenticeship.

We make sure our managers hire and lead inclusively. We designed our recruitment process to help select the right candidate, based on the qualifications, experience and attributes.

[H4] We're here to help you write your next chapter.

Our inclusion networks cover areas such as equality, menopause, faith and ethnicity, LGBTQ+, sustainability, mental health, and disability.

[H2] Inclusion

We've built a network of champions and specialist groups, developed external partnerships to strengthen inclusion in all that we do, and we celebrate diversity and inclusion throughout the year.

Our nine inclusion networks bring colleagues with similar lived experiences together to support one another, raise awareness and share insights. They're also a safe space to give us feedback, helping us make Reach a great place to work for everyone.
Find out about our range of policies to support families and carers here.

Some of the young people who spent time in our newsrooms as apprentices in 2024.

[H2] Outreach

We want to open more doors for more people. Over the past year we've launched outreach schemes to help those from underrepresented backgrounds get experience in our newsrooms and grow their careers with us.

For example, our new 'Get Into Journalism' programme, in partnership with the King's Trust, supports young people aged 18 to 30 from underprivileged backgrounds. It's led to eight new apprentices joining our newsrooms.

The business has always been supportive of my career goals and I have been fortunate to make some great contacts who have given me great career advice. This allowed me to make a career change from Commercial to HR Shared Services back in 2021, allowing me to stay in a business I have enjoyed working in for over 20 years!

Claire Goodyear, HR Advisory Team Manager

[H2] Be Counted

Our Be Counted campaign uses data to better understand how our teams are made up. This helps us spot gaps and ways to improve, and focus our efforts where they can make the most difference.

In 2024, 86% of our employees had shared information with us on things like ethnicity, social mobility, education, and caring responsibilities.

We're using this to build a clearer, more inclusive picture of the people behind Reach.
