Information Density: The Week in Chess – Signal Evidence & AI Readability

The Week in Chess

Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.
28 Impact Weight: 30 / 100
93% Reputation

Information density is exceptionally high, with a near-zero ratio of fluff to substance. Headings like Faustino Oro earns his final GM norm in Sardinia contain specific names, titles, and locations rather than marketing power words. The body text is saturated with technical data including ELO ratings (e.g., GER 2759), specific round results (1-0, ½-½), and chess opening classifications (C65 Ruy Lopez Berlin). Repetition is limited to a singular value proposition regarding the TWIC Magazine donation.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

📝 The Narrative — clean text per page (the substance-vs-filler signal)

Sardinia World Chess Festival 2026

Mark Crowther (Mon May 11 04:55:29 2026)

Faustino Oro is now the second youngest player in history to become a GM after a 6/9 result in Sardinia. I suspect he will be more relieved than anything else after chasing this final norm for five months. He is already among only a select few who have earned the Grandmaster title at such a young age.
