Ginkgo Bioworks
(https://ginkgobioworks.com) 📸 Data Snapshot: May 30, 2026Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.
Information density is bifurcated between visionary fluff and technical substance. The homepage H1 ‘Someday our kids will design the living world’ and claims about ‘curing all diseases’ are high-order fluff, but sub-pages provide high-density data including a ‘$2B investment in platform tech’ and ‘250+ programs.’ Technical specifications for the RAC system, such as ‘1 month delivery for extensions’ and ‘3-4 months for new builds,’ provide concrete evidence that balances the abstract hero messaging.
Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

HOMEPAGE (https://ginkgobioworks.com) Ginkgo Bioworks | Autonomous Labs for Biotechnology
[H1] Someday our kids will design the living world In our vision of the future, our children will program biology like we once programmed computers. In that world, they will cure all diseases and grow everything they can imagine.Let's grow [IMG: Ginkgo bioworks imagery on new york stock exchange building] [H2] Labwork is the bottleneck for biotechnology Autonomous labs are the answerScience still runs on manual benchwork, and that bottleneck slows progress on everything from novel materials to lifesaving medicines. Autonomous labs replace the bench, letting scientists order experimental work from robots just by asking for it. This shift doesn’t replace scientists; it empowers them to focus on insight, creativity, and judgment rather than manual lab work. What is an autonomous lab?See ours in actionAUTONOMOUS LABS [H2] Build your own autonomous lab Autonomous labs aren’t science fiction—they’re already hereWe built one in our Boston HQ, now you can too. [H3] High-Touch Support Our support model is high-touch and ticketless. We provide active, remote troubleshooting rather than a ticketing system. [H3] Made By Scientists for Scientists Ginkgo is the only automation provider that has extensively used its own product internally. We’ve created an automation system by scientists for scientists. [H3] Workflows Built for You Our applications team works with our customers to build workflows that not only function seamlessly on our hardware but also operate efficiently and in a biologically sound manner. [H3] Modular The RAC system is more modular, extensible, robust, and customizable than any other platform on the market. [H3] Cost-Effective There is no need for high-spend design and redesign efforts to build and extend your system. Add-ons and changes are all marginal spend. [H3] Fast Delivery We have some of the fastest delivery timelines on the market — as low as one month for system extensions, and as low as 3-4 months for new builds. [H3] Reliable Hardware We leverage industrial components on our systems, leading to significantly improved non-instrument (e.g. moving track; robotic arm) hardware reliability versus competitors. [H3] Web-Based Software Our software is based on a modern stack, and is web-based. Scientists can launch protocols from anywhere, at any time, all while being compliant with large company IT and information security. Our automation systems adapt and grow without constraints or complications. Unlike traditional systems that require complete redesigns and new capital investment for any instrument changes, our solution allows you to combine any instruments, in any number, in any order. You won't need a design engineer - if you can imagine an instrument combination, it's possible. No more compromises. [H3] How many years have RACs been in development? RACs have been in active use and continuous development for more than 8 years, across Ginkgo's operations and Zymergen's before its acquisition by Ginkgo in 2022. [H3] How frequently do you add new instruments to your integration list? Our instrument list is continuously expanding as we integrate new devices for both internal Ginkgo operations and customer needs. We support standard off-the-shelf equipment and custom instruments. Custom integrations require slightly longer lead times. [H3] You haven’t integrated my instrument of choice. What’s the process for getting it onboarded? Each new instrument requires an integration kit (i.e. a kit for mounting and locating the instrument and relevant accessories). The process includes hardware design and testing as well as developing software drivers. We typically test with an identical instrument in our facility before deploying to a customer via FAT and SAT. New instrument integration typically adds several months to the deployment schedule. [H3] Teaching is a problem for the automation in my lab. How often do you have to re-teach? RACs typically maintain accuracy for a year or more without re-teaching. Adding new RACs does not affect existing teach-points, and our dedicated gripper designs ensure maximum positional accuracy for each instrument - unlike central robotic arm systems. [H3] Do customers have control over what data is visible to the Ginkgo support team? Are customers able to restrict access to confidential data? Yes, you control what context is shared. Our support team can see operational data (e.g. barcode IDs, sealing temperatures, etc.), protocol logic, and raw data from data-generating instruments. However, as we do not have access to your LIMS, we cannot deduce any meaningful content from this data. If you prefer, you can purposefully obfuscate the above data (e.g. protocol inputs, constants, etc.) to further ensure your data's integrity.
