MOTRIN® contains ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).  The MOTRIN® family of pediatric products can provide relief from pain and fever in children.The ibuprofen in MOTRIN® disrupts the production of substances known as prostaglandins, which the body produces in response to an injury. These contribute to pain and inflammation. This can help you administer the medication in a safe and effective manner.Here are a few things to keep in mind:When giving any medicine to a child, always read and follow the product label instructions carefullyFind the right Children’s MOTRIN® dose using our dosage chartIf possible, use weight to dose; otherwise, use ageOnly use the dosing device provided with the medicine. Do not use any other dosing deviceDo not give more than directed doseIf needed, repeat the dose after every 6-8 hours. But do not use more than 4 times a dayShake well before usemL = milliliter. If an allergic reaction occurs, stop use and seek medical help right away.Stomach bleeding warning: This product contains an NSAID, which may cause severe stomach bleeding. [H3] How Much Ibuprofen Can You Take in a Day?
The maximum ibuprofen dosage for adults can vary based on the specific MOTRIN® product being used. Generally, for most single-ingredient MOTRIN® products (products that contain just ibuprofen as an active ingredient and do not combine ibuprofen with other active ingredients), it is recommended not to exceed 6 tablets or capsules within a 24-hour period unless directed by your healthcare provider. However, for specialized formulations such as MOTRIN® IB Migraine Relief Liquid Gel Caps and MOTRIN® PM Caplets Sleep Aid, the limit is restricted to a maximum of two caplets in a 24-hour span.It is crucial to adhere to the specific guidelines provided for each product and not exceed the recommended dosages unless directed by your healthcare provider.
