Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.
28 Impact Weight: 30 / 100
93% Reputation

The information density is exceptionally high, dominated by technical specifications such as 2.5-micron aluminum ribbons, Neodymium Grade 52 magnets, and specific SPL ratings of 160dB. Fluff headings are almost non-existent; instead, headings like [H3] R-122 MKII Phantom Powered Ribbon Microphone serve as specific product identifiers. The body text maintains a high substance ratio, citing specific engineering features like 13 dB more output and switchable -15 dB pads rather than generic creative vision claims.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

[H3] Award Winning Ribbon Microphones
Royer Labs is dedicated to the art of the ribbon microphone.
In 1998 we introduced the R-121, the modern ribbon mic that reintroduced ribbon microphones to engineers worldwide and put ribbons on the map. Shortly after the R-121 we released the SF-12 stereo ribbon mic, followed by the R-122, the world's first phantom powered ribbon microphone. Then came the TEC Award winning R-122V tube ribbon microphone and the TEC Award winning Live Series ribbon mics for live use. In 2013, Royer received the coveted Technical Grammy Award for bringing ribbon microphones into mainstream recording around the world.
The microphone is the original ear in the recording process, the first and most influential part of the recording chain. Royer ribbon mics simply help you capture the most natural sounding recordings possible.
Every Royer is hand-made in the USA by craftsmen who are fanatical about building the best ribbon microphones in the world. Come inside and see what ribbon microphones can do for you.

More
[IMG: sf-series-ribbon-microphones]

Royer’s SF-series ribbon microphones combine a warm, natural sound pickup with exceptional detail, nuance and dead-flat frequency response. Stereo SF-series mics are a go-to choice for drum overheads and are exquisite on piano and full orchestra pickup. The mono SF-2 has found its home in the classical arena where it gives extremely natural reproduction of strings, woodwinds and the like.

[H3] SF-2 Phantom Powered Ribbon Microphone
The SF-2 ribbon microphone is a phantom powered version of our original SF-1 ribbon microphone. Designed primarily for classical applications and acoustic instruments, the SF-2 combines high-quality audio performance with our exclusive active electronics for ribbon microphones. The SF-2's output of -38 dB puts its sensitivity on par with that of phantom powered condenser microphones, allowing it to be used with a wide variety of mic pre's regardless of gain characteristics. The unique electronics and custom designed FET's used in the SF-2 deliver ultra-quiet operation, with self-noise of lower than 18 dB. More

[H3] SF-12 Stereo Ribbon Microphone
The SF-12 ribbon microphone is an extremely natural sounding stereo ribbon microphone. With its flat frequency response and outstanding stereo separation and imaging, the SF-12 delivers you-are-there recordings like you've never heard before. More

[H3] SF-24 Phantom Powered Stereo Ribbon Microphone
The SF-24 ribbon microphone has all of the outstanding stereophonic capability and sonic performance of our award winning SF-12 stereo ribbon microphone, with the addition of condenser-level output and impedance matching circuitry. Designed to work with phantom power, the SF-24 makes preamplifier mismatches and gain-related noise a thing of the past. More

[H3] SF-24V Vacuum Tube Ribbon Microphone
The SF-24V ribbon microphone is the pinnacle of our stereo ribbon microphone designs. With the inclusion of vacuum tube circuitry derived from our TEC Award winning R-122V, the SF-24V provides unmatched clarity, detail, midrange reach, and an airiness previously unknown to ribbon microphones. For orchestra, acoustic instruments and all critical stereo applications, the SF-24V is perfection. More
[IMG: live-series-ribbon-microphones]

The Live Series ribbon elements are 4-microns thick. While they held up better on the road than the standard 2.5-micron ribbons, high end frequencies were reduced. The R-10’s 2.5-micron ribbon element is so well protected by the built-in wind screen system and internal shock mounting, it holds up even betterthan Live Series microphones, while giving more highs and more nuanced transient response.
With our TEC Award winning Live Series ribbon microphones, you get greater durability from the ribbon element, allowing you to put ribbons anywhere on stage with complete confidence. Tame high-end harshness and bring Royer’s legendary smoothness, warmth and power to your live performances.

[H3] R-121 Live Ribbon Microphone
The R-121 Live is a ruggedized version of our popular R-121 ribbon microphone. The studio R-121 is tough and has been used on live performances for years, but the increased durability of the R-121 Live gives FOH engineers greater confidence in the ribbon standing up to life on the road. More

[H3] R-122 MKII Live Phantom Powered Ribbon Microphone
The R-122 Live is a road-optimized version of our phantom powered R-122 MKII ribbon microphone. The R-122 MKII Live's output is on par with phantom powered condenser mics, allowing long cable runs with minimal signal loss or RF pickup, and it produces the warm, natural sounds that only ribbon mics can deliver. [H2] R-12 Active Ribbon Microphone
[H3] The legacy continues…
Ideal for both studio recording and live sound applications, the Royer R-12 active ribbon microphone delivers outstanding performance on electric and acoustic stringed instruments, vocals, brass, pianos and organs, as well as drums and percussion instruments at an easily affordable price point.
The R-12 is capable of extremely natural sound acquisition, making the microphone an exceptional choice for capturing an audio source just like it sounds to the ear with extraordinary sonic accuracy. Royer ribbons have always been known for their ability to deliver a warm sound capable of capturing the elusive nuances of the original performance. R-12 takes this capability to the next level.
Of particular note, the R-12 uses the same 2.5 micron ribbon element found in the company’s legendary R-121 microphone. This feature delivers Royer’s well-known high SPL (Sound Pressure Level) capabilities measured at 160dB @ 1kHz. With its switchable -15dB pad, the R-12 can deliver excellent headroom for louder program material such as drums and dimed electric guitars. This important feature eliminates any potential for headroom-related distortion on even the loudest sound sources.
Another notable feature of the new R-12 microphone is its onboard active electronic circuitry, which significantly increases output level for quieter sound sources such as acoustic instruments and vocals. R-12’s active electronics consistently put a perfect load on the ribbon element, enabling the microphone to deliver its full sonic potential.
The R-12 is also outfitted with a switchable High Pass filter precisely tuned to reduce low end proximity buildup, making this microphone a perfect choice for capturing louder vocal performances and close-miking of instruments and loudspeaker cabinets.
Completing its rich feature set, the R-12 houses an internally shock-mounted ribbon transducer, which helps to protect the ribbon element while also reducing handling noise. Combined with its built-in triple-layer wind screen, the microphone’s ribbon is effectively protected against plosives and other wind-related noise.

🧭 Industry Context — common generic-claim patterns in Photography, Video & Creative Studios to weigh the text against
Generic Claims: capturing your story, moments that last forever, award-winning photographer, creative vision brought to life, stunning visuals, unforgettable memories…
Red Flags: portfolio with inconsistent styles suggesting multiple photographers, no pricing information at all, stock photos used in marketing materials, award claims without named awarding body, unlimited usage rights at suspiciously low prices, no contract or terms of service mentioned…
Semantic Drift Patterns: portfolio shows one style but claims versatility in every genre, homepage positions as editorial but services are event coverage, claims commercial photography but portfolio is personal projects, premium positioning but pricing page reveals budget packages…
Proof Expectations: portfolio with consistent body of recent work, specific equipment and technique information, named clients or publications with verifiable credits, real testimonials linked to specific projects, clear pricing or investment information, deliverable specifications and timelines…
