The Jackson Laboratory’s Genomic Education (GE) team delivers integrated, experiential programming that prepares the next generation of leaders in biomedicine. Our holistic approach combines conceptual and technical education with essential training in science communication, collaboration, translational skills and computational thinking.

Building on JAX’s deep research expertise and leadership in modeling human disease, our in‑person, virtual, and online programs connect learners across the biomedical community — from high school and undergraduate students to postbaccalaureate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees, as well as clinicians, scientists, research assistants, lab technicians, and educators. Our offerings span the intersection of genetics, genomics, computational biology and bioinformatics, supported by funding from HHMI, NIH, NSF and others, and strengthened through academic partnerships with Tufts University, The University of Maine, UConn Health, and Northeastern University’s Roux Institute. Together, these programs reach learners across the U.S. and around the world.
