[H3] Which ecommerce platform is Bundles & Bulk Discounts for?
Bundles & Bulk Discounts is a Shopify app. If you're looking for similar features for WooCommerce then you should use our WooCommerce Discount Manager plugin instead, which has the same bulk discount features and more.
[H3] What is the difference between volume bundles and bulk discounts?
Volume bundles encourage customers to buy fixed quantities of a product for a discounted price. For example, you might display a table of volume bundles on the product page which offers a quantity of 1 for full price, a bundle of 2 of the same product for 10% discount or $10 off, or a bundle of 3 for $15% discount or $15 off.
In contrast, bulk pricing involves creating an limited number of quantity-based price breaks. The customer can choose whichever quantity they require from the default Shopify quantity field. The plugin will then give the correct discount based on the quantity ordered. You can display a tiered pricing table to show customers how much they can save.
[H3] Can customers create mix and match deals?
Volume bundles allow customers to save money by buying specific quantities of a particular product or its variants. Customers must either buy the specified quantity of that exact product, or they can make up the bundle by mixing and matching multiple variants of that product.
If you want to offer quantity-based volume discounts across multiple products, then you can do this using the 'Bulk Discount' discount type instead. This has an option to mix and match across multiple products. For example, customers could mix and match 5 t-shirts in order to take advantage of a "Buy at least 5 and get $20 off" bulk buy deal.
[H3] Can I offer buy-one-get-one-free (BOGO) deals?
Yes, there are two ways to offer BOGO deals with Barn2 Bundles & Bulk Discounts:
Volume bundles - Create volume bundles for quantities of 1 and 2, and set the second item to be 100% off. Customers can either choose two of a specific product, or mix and match variants of that product.
Bulk pricing - Set a 100% discount on the 2nd item. This can be mixed and matched across different products, and the cheapest will be free.
Either way, customers must add both items to their cart in order to get the BOGO deal - the free item will not be added automatically.
We recommend changing the text above the discount table to "Buy One Get One Free!" or similar to encourage customers to take advantage of the BOGO deal.
[H3] Does it support product variants?
Yes - when you enable volume bundles on a product, variant dropdowns will appear within each bundle option. This allows customers to select which variants they require. For example, if it's a bundle for 2 items then they can either choose the same variant twice, or 2 different variants.
Bulk discounts support variants in a choice of ways. When you set up the discount, you can choose whether the calculation will be split across all qualifying products and variants, or just like-for-like items. For example, if you're offering a 10% discount for buying 5+ t-shirts then you can choose whether the customer can mix and match any 5 t-shirts to qualify, or whether they must choose 5 of a specific variant.
[H3] Can I create more than 25 discounts?
Yes! Shopify itself has a 25 discount limit which means that you can only create up to 25 coupon codes. This limit also affects most Shopify discount apps - but not Bundles & Bulk Discounts!
We have coded our app in a unique way which overcomes Shopify's 25-discount limit. This means that you can create an unlimited number of volume bundles and bulk discounts.
[H3] Can I prioritize my discounts to avoid conflicts?
Bundles & Bulk Discounts is the only Shopify discount app which lets you set priorities for your discounts.
For example, imagine that you have created 2 discount rules which could potentially apply to the same product. To avoid customers from taking advantage of multiple discounts at once - which could result in unprofitable orders for you - you can use drag-and-drop to choose which discount should take precedence.
