Information Density — The Lens

Classify each sentence as substantive or hollow. Grounding markers — numbers, currencies, dates, technical units, named entities — outweigh marketing adjectives. When fluff sits right next to hard evidence, the fluff is forgiven.

Info Density Power-words vs. Substance ratio.

Information density is uneven across the site. While the What to do when someone dies page provides a concrete 4-stage protocol (Obtain Medical Certificate, Register death, etc.), the homepage relies on fluff headings like Funeral services with distinction and SETTING THE HIGHEST STANDARDS. The body text contains a high frequency of stale evidence; every testimonial provided is from October 2021, making the proof points over 55 months old relative to the May 2026 anchor. This delta significantly reduces the substance of the current claims of care.

Information Density is read straight from the body copy: how much of the text carries grounded, checkable substance versus hollow filler. Below is the clean text the engine analyzed, then the industry’s known generic-claim patterns to weigh it against.

"I felt the arrangements were made with the utmost courtesy and respect. I felt supported and befriended by the lady I dealt with, she answered all my questions and was compassionate during a very difficult time. I was introduced to the lady who would be present on the day over the telephone (as I organized the funeral from a distance) and all I needed to know was carefully explained to me. The day itself was beautifully and sensitively managed. Thank you for making a difficult time so much easier."

My Dad had taken out a funeral plan and would highly recommend one as it made the whole process much easier in a very stressful time."

[H2] A timeline of what to do when someone dies
When someone dies, there are many things which you will need to take care of, from registering the death to notifying particular organisations. We recommend notifying your funeral director as soon as possible, so you can receive advice and support on the next steps of funeral planning and everything in-between. Understanding what you need to do may help ease some of the stress or confusion you may be feeling.
[H3] Stage 1: Obtain a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death
As soon as someone dies, you should call a doctor. They'll be able to issue a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
You will then need to find a funeral director, and arrange for the deceased to be collected and brought into their care.
[H3] Stage 2: Register the death
You must register the death in the country where your loved one died. You'll need to find a register office in the area where the death occurred and make an appointment.
You'll also need to bring certain documents with you, such as the deceased's passport and Birth Certificate.
[H3] Stage 3: Contact your funeral director
You can contact your funeral director as early as stage one, so they can prepare to bring your loved one into their care. If you haven’t already, contact your funeral director as soon as possible to be guided through the next steps. When getting started on making funeral arrangements, you will need to consider the type of funeral, coffin, travel arrangements and other details such as flowers and readings.
[H3] Stage 4: Deal with the estate
If your loved one left behind a will, the named 'executor' will deal with the estate. If there isn't a will, a relative will be appointed as an 'administrator' in order to deal with this.
Inform Tell Us Once about the death within the first two weeks. They will tell authorities and government services that your loved one has passed away, rather than having to contact each authority separately. The deceased's social media accounts will need to be dealt with too.

🧭 Industry Context — common generic-claim patterns in Unclear / Mixed / Unclassifiable Industry to weigh the text against
Generic Claims: trusted by leading companies, proven track record, the best in the industry, results that speak for themselves, your trusted partner, exceeding expectations…
Red Flags: no verifiable business identity or registration, claims expertise in unrelated fields simultaneously, stock photography throughout, no physical address or contact phone number, testimonials without full names or businesses, guaranteed outcomes for complex services…
Semantic Drift Patterns: homepage makes grand claims but sub-pages are thin on detail, positioning suggests specialist but services are generic, hero section is ambitious but content does not support it, multiple service areas with no depth in any single one, messaging changes tone and target audience across pages…
Proof Expectations: named clients or customers with verifiable identity, specific results with numbers, dates, and context, verifiable team credentials and professional backgrounds, third-party reviews on independent platforms, case studies with measurable outcomes, regulatory registrations relevant to claimed services…
