Founded in 2014, Alpha Maths Tuition Centre offers learning and support to post-primary students to develop their skills in Maths, Irish, Chemistry, Physics, Business and Economics for the Junior and Leaving Certificate examinations. Learning is provided through private face-to-face and online tuition. Alpha Maths offers individual tuition, group classes, topic-focused workshops, revision courses, and more.

Stephen completed his second-level education in Deerpark CBS, St. Patrick’s Road, Cork and went on to complete a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineer Degree (Honours) from the Cork Institute of Technology and then a Master of Business Administration Degree from Florida Atlantic University.
Stephen has a number of years of experience as a tutor, teacher, and examiner.
Stephen also has over 20 years’ experience in Engineering having worked with a number of different multi-national corporations such as Logitech, Stryker, Tyco, and Phillips holding positions from Project Engineer to Project Manager.
Stephen recognised the demand to provide students with additional after-school support and founded
Alpha Maths Tuition Centre. The aim of Alpha Maths is to help students to develop their Maths skills so they can understand and apply the basic fundamental concepts of the new Project Maths syllabus for the Junior and Leaving Certificate examinations. The tuition centre has a friendly environment, is exam focused, and conveniently located in 87 South Mall in the heart of Cork City..

Individual (one-to-one) tuition is very much focused on the student’s needs. This option is suitable for students of all ages and ability. Material is specifically tailored for each individual. Only a limited number of spaces available for one-to-one tuition so parents are encouraged to book well in advance.

[H2] Group Tuition
Classes do not replace or interfere with regular school work, but rather supplement and enhance school learning. Notes on each topic are provided and all study material is of exam standard. Classes are small (6 students max.) and individual student attention is a priority. Student attendance is monitored and absenteeism is queried.

[H2] 6th year preparation Courses
Alpha Maths Tuition Centre will be holding 6th Year Prep Courses for the HL Maths syllabus for students who are starting 6th year in the coming September.  The course is usually held in August.

As well as revising the syllabus, we will also look at the exam structure, marking schemes, and time management. Classes are limited to 8 students and the cost is €100 per student.

[H2] Summer Grinds
Summer grinds are useful for students to catch-up on material they did not quite understand fully in school last year or to get ahead on new topics which they will be studying next year. Summer grinds are mainly individual sessions but groups are also welcome. The schedule is very flexible and students do as much or as little as they want.
[H2] Topic-focused Workshops
We also run workshops during mid-term breaks throughout the year. Each workshop focuses on a specific module – such as Algebra, Number, Calculus, etc. Workshops are intensive, topic-focused, and are approximately 2½ hours long. Call Stephen or follow us on our facebook page for information on dates, times, etc. Places are limited to 8 students per workshop.
