[H4] Blackthorn-USA, LLC is a nature based outdoor adventure school specializing in preparedness, bushcraft and survival.
We focus on preparedness and learning the skills necessary to allow you to adapt and overcome situations found in urban or wilderness environments. We offer comprehensive hands on courses designed to teach you how to survive and live comfortably in the wilderness with little or no equipment as well as courses designed to improve your odds of survival in an urban setting including sheltering in place.
If you are concerned with safety and security in the event of a disaster or just want the skills to own your environment while hiking, hunting or exploring the outdoors, this site is for you.
Our courses are most often taught outdoors, in the wild. Also you will find no boring classrooms or tedious lectures. Students are encouraged to put their new skills to use immediately. Group sizes are kept small to ensure a good student to instructor ratio, generally no more than 10 students to a course. If you are interested in learning preparedness, bushcraft and wilderness survival you have found the right place.  Welcome, and please look around.

Made of 18/8 Food Grade Stainless Steel with a brushed finish.
Un-lined and BPA free. Will not retain tastes or odors.
Single wall construction. May be placed directly in fire for cooking or water purification.
Wide mouth for ease of cleaning, adding ice cubes, eating out of, etc.
32 ounce capacity. Works with water treatment tablets.
3.5”x8.75” will fit in standard carriers such as Maxpedition and Condor.
Weighs only 7 ounces.
Removable polypropylene cap with insert to ensure a leak free seal.
Re-usable, durable and eco friendly.

What makes our Blackthorn Bottles better than the others? Our bottles are 32oz and work with water treatment tablets. This saves you the annoying and perhaps dangerous task of figuring out how many tablets to cut up and add to your 20oz, 40oz, etc bottles. Our bottles have standard 63mm threads. Any Nalgene style lid or accessory will fit our bottles. No need to hunt for hard to find or expensive replacement lids. Our bottles will nest with Olicamp, GSI and similar cups. You don’t need to purchase a special cup. Our caps have an insert that fits into the bottle neck and prevents the silicone seal from rolling out and allowing the bottle leak. Nice bottle for intended purpose. Not much else to say. It’s a stainless water bottle that will work well for boiling and transporting water. I will not use this as a day to day bottle since the mouth is large.

This bottle is lighter weight than other steel bottles of the same volume. It fits many Nalgene and Hydroflask lids, one exception is the “humangear capCAP” which does NOT work on this bottle. Blackthorn-USA’s customer service is top notch and a real pleasure to deal with.

I was given this bottle as a gift and have used it hard. I love the wide mouth because it makes it easy to boil water in it. I can even fit a boil in bag meal through that opening. I use this bottle for boiling up cooking water and dish water, for holding items I have foraged, for carrying water with me in my pack, and for packing small camp necessities into. It is an all around useful bottle and is lightweight as well. I like the loop on the lid so I don’t lose the lid. I love my bottle. It is no longer new and shipping y and looks like a good camp bottle should — blackened by the fire and full of water. The Blackthorne group is made up of a great bunch of guys as well. They are knowledgeable and as nice as the day is long. You can’t go wrong with their products or their classes.

Purchased this bottle a week before going camping and didn’t expect it to be delivered until I got back from camping. It came the two days before I left and used it during my camping trip. I saw reviews on Amazon saying that it leaked but when I filled it with water and closed the lid it worked perfectly all weekend long. Great product.

Great high quality stainless steel bottle. Shipped fast USPS Priority Mail.
It doesn’t leak with the cap included with the bottle. However I tried the newer CapCap+ cap with the silicone seal ring and it still leaks. But great bottle if you don’t want an insulated bottle and don’t want to ingest any chemicals from the plastic bottles.

Our Slow Match is made from 100% cotton rope soaked in a special blend of natural additives to ensure slow steady burning of match in wind or even light rain. This Slow Match comes with a Brass Suffer.
The Snuffer allows you to easily snuff your match by pulling the rope into the snuffer and placing a finger on the end smothering the ember. This effectively creates char for your next lighting attempt and protects the char from damage in your fire kit.
To use simply extend the match a 1/4” out of snuffer and hold against your flint as you would with a piece of char cloth. Strike flint with steel directing sparks onto the match. Match will catch the spark and turn to ember. Use to ignite tinder bundles or brimstone matches. Snuff ember leaving match ready for next use.

I bought this slow match a while ago and it was the first time I had the opportunity to purchase a true, treated slow match. Easy to prepare (you have to char the end first) and once prepared the Slow Match with Snuffer took a spark from flint and steel easily and smoldered well, exactly as advertised.
I am yet to test in inclement weather but I am sure it would preform well.
Excellent product, highly recommended.
Well made and easy to use.
I will be buying more of these in the future.
