Use caution walking, biking, and driving on campus. Use crosswalks and learn pedestrian and cycling rules. Don't be distracted
by mobile devices. Follow these tips for securing your personal safety and personal property.

Use caution and follow these tips when using a ride share service.

[H2] Take a shuttle at night

Instead of walking around campus at night, take LSU’s free shuttle known as Campus Transit. It’s an on-demand service that runs from 5 p.m. to midnight, 7 days a week. You
can even schedule your ride via the TransLoc Rider app.

[H2] If you see something, say something

If you see something suspicious on campus, please report it! We want to hear from
you, and you can report suspicious behavior anonymously. Call LSU Police at 225-578-3231 or if it’s an emergency, dial 911.

[H2] Self-Defense Classes

LSU Police and the Student Health Center offer Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Classes
for women. RAD is a 12-hour personal safety course. LSU Police also offers the Equalizer Self Defense Program throughout the year or upon request for groups.

[H2] Active Shooter Training

In the event that you ever find yourself in a situation where there is an active shooter,
be prepared by watching the training and learning about the federal government’s “Run, Hide, Fight” paradigm.

[H2] Receive emergency text messages from LSU

If you have not yet registered your mobile phone to receive emergency text messages
from LSU, please do so at MyLSU by clicking on “Personal Preferences” and “Emergency Contacts.” While there, please
fill out your emergency contact information, too.

[H2] Download Free Safety App

The LSU SHIELD app is designed to help you report emergencies or crimes, receive help from police, or
check on friends to ensure they’ve arrived safely at their destinations. Students
and employees should download the free app. The app will ask for various information,
not all of which is required. But the more information entered, the better the app
works for users.

From the 1,200 live oaks shading every path to the Italian-Renaissance inspired architecture
dating back to the 1920s, our campus in Baton Rouge is considered one of the most
beautiful in the country. It not only houses the classrooms and laboratories where

mascot. And if you visit at noontime, you’ll hear Memorial Tower chiming the LSU Alma
