When it comes to beer – fresher is better, and nothing is fresher than locally brewed beer.  HooDoo Brewing Company makes beers of the highest quality from the world’s best ingredients.
Our brewery has been designed and built to brew classic German, Belgian, English and American beer styles.  We like to keep it simple – brew quality beers, with the best ingredients money can buy, keeping tradition in mind. Our Kölsch and IPA are always on tap (if we can help it), and we have a constantly rotating selection of seasonal beers to fit everyone’s palate.

Take your favorite HooDoo Brew to go in a half gallon Growler. Refillable growlers are economical and environmentally friendly. Bring your favorite growler, or purchase one of ours to be filled in the Taproom.

[H2] Kegs

Having a few friends over for the game, or want to treat your pals around the campfire?  A five gallon keg contains about 40 16oz pints, with zero packaging waste, and a great price.  Just pay a deposit on the keg, purchase the beer inside, and you’re ready to go!  We also have hand-pumps available to rent.

Back to that Porter…
A rich base of English Maris Otter pale malt, layered with 7 specialty malts from England, Belgium and the US to create this distinctive and unique Porter.  After fermentation, we aged the beer on the finest Madagascar Vanilla beans to add an elegant and rich dimension.  The heady aroma draws you in to take a sip and from there the beer unfolds it’s layers of complexity.  An English ale yeast compliments the malt and vanilla flavors with a characterful nuttiness.  The beer finishes with a light roastiness and a hint of vanilla to balance.
Vanilla Porter will be available on Wednesday for glass pours in the Taproom, plus kegs and cans to go! PROST!!

Cask Saturday! Today’s treat: Our always amazing
[IMG: Cask Saturday! Today’s treat: Our always amazing American IPA, conditioned on cardamom and the zest and juice from a bunch of Cara Cara Oranges.
We’re pretty stoked on this one - The Centennial hops of our IPA sets a floral-citrus stage for this infusion, then upon first sip the orange immediately amplifies the citrus sweetness. Herbal/citrus Cardamom will swing in to add depth and an intriguing layer of spicy complexity. In a word - YUM.
Taps at noon sharp and flows until it’s gone!

We’ve refined the

We’ve refined the recipe and process for this brew over the past few years and we’re so happy with where we’ve ended up. A base of only the finest Weyermann Pilsner and Wheat Malt, plus a bit of rolled outs create a light, but full bodied base for the incredible hop bouquet to come. Heaps of Amarillo and El Dorado in the boil, fermented with a fruity English Ale yeast, then on to a mega-dry hop of the beer with the tropical classic - Citra. As a bonus - we also add a whole lot of love at each and every step. We hope you enjoy this batch of New England IPA as much as we do!
Our cask for this Saturday - our delectable Pumpkin Ale, conditioned on Cold Brew Coffee and a couple of vanilla beans. Can’t wait to try this one - ten gallons taps on Saturday at noon sharp!

Thanks to our family and friends, old & new, for allowing us to lean on you for moral support, good advice, or even helping us decorate the Biergarten, feed cans into the canning line, or help share our beers at a beer festival.
To our amazing staff - past and present: Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and love for HooDoo. Day in, day out - we are grateful for you!

[H1] Kokua Relief Beer Now Available at HooDoo Brewing Company

HooDoo Brewing Company is excited to share that their rendition of the Kōkua Relief Beer was released on Friday, October 27th. The Kōkua Session IPA combines a low alcohol content with the bright, tropical hoppy flavor profile of an IPA. HooDoo will be donating $1 per glass sold in the Taproom to the Kōkua project.

The Kōkua project was started by Maui Brewing Company, based in Lahaina, in the wake of the devastating wildfires in Maui in August of this year. 98 people were killed in Lahaina, and most of the town was destroyed, making it one of the deadliest wildfires in US history. Many that survived lost everything in the fires, and there has been a massive effort locally and around the world to rebuild what was lost.. The Kōkua Project will focus on rebuilding homes for displaced residents.

Over 700 breweries are participating in the project, including fellow Alaska breweries: Bawden Street Brewery (Ketchikan), Forbidden Peak Brewery (Juneau), Grace Ridge Brewery (Homer), and Kenai Brewery (Soldotna).

“As the fires raged in Maui, we watched in disbelief,” said HooDoo Owner and Head Brewer Bobby Wilken,” then when the news and scope of the devastation unfolded, we were looking for a way to help in some way, and along came the Kōkua Project.  A big thanks to Maui Brewing for providing this opportunity for our little brewery, and our Fairbanks customers to make even a small contribution in the recovery of Maui.”

Kōkua Session IPA was released in the HooDoo Taproom at 1951 Fox Avenue at 11am on Friday, October 27th.  It is available by the glass and by the 64oz growler to go.

The Kōkua Relief Beer is part of the Kōkua Relief Project, led by Maui Brewing Company, to benefit Maui Wildfire victims.

HooDoo Oktoberfest shall go on!
This has been a challenging year for everyone here on planet Earth, but through all of this, there must be beer!  As you might expect, Oktoberfest 2020 will take on a different format than years past, with a focus on reducing crowds and getting that Oktoberfest Lager in your hands quickly and safely.  That said, there will be plenty of awesomeness to enjoy and needless to say, we are STOKED!
// BEER //
Each year at THE Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, the Mayor of Munich taps the first keg of beer at Noon sharp and exclaims “O’zpft Is!” or “It is tapped!”  As in years past, we’ll have our Mayor here to help us do the same.  Mayor Jim Matherly will be here to tap the cask at 11am and get the beer flowing right away – join us on Facebook Live and Instagram TV for the tapping!
Our Oktoberfest Lager was brewed back in July in the traditional German way according to Reinheitsgebot (the Bavarian Beer Purity Law), and has been lagering at 32°F in our cellar ever since.  The beer is tasting mighty fine – malty, rich, and toasty – and we can’t wait to share it with you.  This year’s Oktoberfest Lager will be available by the glass in the Biergarten, and To-Go in 5 gallon kegs, growlers, and…4-packs of 16oz cans!
Beginning on Sunday, September 20th our Nitro faucet will feature our American IPA!  Instead of carbonating with CO2, Nitro beers are “nitrogenated” with nitrogen resulting in a beautiful cascading display upon pouring, a rich ever-lasting foam of tiny bubbles, and a creamy, smooth drinking experience.
On Tuesday, September 22nd we’ll release an old favorite – our Scottish Export Ale.  The complexity of this malty brew is tantalizing and gets better with every sip.  Scottish Export will be available by the glass, keg, growler, and YES…4-packs of 16oz cans!

Fairbanks Artist and beer lover Scott Hansen was commissioned for our 2020 Oktoberfest artwork.  His original painting will hang in the Taproom beginning Saturday, September 19th, and will be featured on limited edition T-shirts, Hoodies, Posters and Stickers – and of course it will adorn our 4-packs of Oktoberfest Lager!  All available online to pick up this year – see below for details.
We’re excited to announce that our Oktoberfest 2020 Steins are 100% made in Fairbanks by our friends at The Great Alaskan Bowl Company.  We have a limited number of these birch steins available, and they will be available online for pickup – see below for details.

Along with warm Firebergs and a festive Oktoberfest 2020 scene to take your photo in, we’ll have some of our favorite Food Trucks in the Biergarten every day throughout Oktoberfest.  Mein Diner, Hapunan Shack, AK Cheesesteak Co, Hungry Robot, Between The Buns, Blue Flame Street Side, Arctic Habanero, and Golddigger Dogs all making an appearance! Set your pickup time when you order, and we’ll have it ready for you any time after 11am Saturday 9/19.  We will have a designated area outside in the Biergarten for online order pickup, or you can pull into a Curbside Pickup spot, give us a call at 459-BEER and we’ll bring your order out to your car!
